    I reckon the old models, before the 12bhp law as they have a bit more grunt, are better. It was certainly easier for me to do mod 1and 2 on the cb twin, as I did not need to thrash it to do the speed test. The schools bike I used for the first try at mod 1 struggled to do 45 to 50 on a dual carriageway, and turned out wasn't taxed when the examiner looked it over, so could not use it anyway

    My last unexpected emergency brake was on Harlestone Road. A big merc style SUV came to a stop at a give way sign to my left, just about 50 metres away, but it had spinning hub cap thingies, which made it look like the wheels were rotating, so I thought it was still pulling out in my path

    That's why I'm glad I have dual ABS on the bike. I get too many idiots that decide they are in the wrong lane at lights so change lane without looking or indicating

    When are they going to enforce having lights on a bike, especially at night, and I've yet to have a cyclist give me room or using a bell on the pavement when I walk anywhere. I think tweedle dee and tweedle dum thought up the new code

    A car behind me today had a flashing/strobe type light in its passenger side headlight. I saw it in my mirrors and thought the driver was flashing its lights at me

    Even CE marks can be misleading. I bought a CE marked headlight unit for the 500, but it's no good in the UK. The lens set up is wrong, so dip beam is to the left, high to the right

    I know my kit was bought before the new rules, but I looked at all of my kit, leather and textile, last night and found no CE labels of any kind, even in my HG kit

    HD riders kit check list. Open face helmet, dark glasses (to look cool or be anonymous), denim cut off, leather chaps and gloves, and a gas mask (for riding in convoy with other HDs')
