  1. This Saturday vintage bikes will go from the sixfields to Abington Street in aid of the Cynthia Spencer Trust. No idea of times, but I live near sixfields so will go for a look
  2. Soda stream and cider don't mix, then, @rennie
  3. I've got a little nodding skull, I think I will stick on the bike for a laugh. It can do the nodding for me
  4. I remember being ignored at a bike meet in Peterborough organised by the BMF, because I was on a 125. Didn't matter to them that I had a full licence and the bike was "improved" above the 16.5 bhp from a stock engine, and would have done over the ton if I could have bought tyres to suit
  5. Be careful with pay at pump. New set up allows them to "ring-fence" £100 from your account before you put any fuel in, and they are not obliged to unfree the extra cash straight away. I made that mistake at a Morissons' garage a couple of months ago on the same day a DD should have been paid and it put me in the red, even though I only put £20 in
  6. I've got to say it, I dunno anything about dinno
  7. It's not easy undoing screws with a chisel
  8. Your lucky it hasn't got on your brake disc/pads. not only does it stop you braking properly it knackers the pads
  9. Cracking place is that
  10. @onesea, if you Google off road experience, Wiltshire there are a couple that may be suitable for all of you
  11. Rode it. So sick of sitting at home doing nought, mainly due to a complete lack of funds to do anything else, (my fault, losing job during first lock down) everywhere I went though there was bloody roadworks/diversions of one kind or another. Ended up doing Salcey Forest, Stoke Bruine, and lots of bendy bits in between. Couldn't get into any kind of flow though, too much other traffic, so took the edge off somewhat, but at least the weather was good
  12. It's bike suited to drifters in good ol USA (a low down bum)
  13. Surely there is not enough infrastructure for EV use yet? Near me the council has fitted charging stations at the end of a side road, in an area clearly marked for EVs only, but guess what are parked there, taking all the space, yes, ICEs
  14. Maybe he wrote the post after 4rums
  15. What would you call a blind muncjack? No idea
  16. I use a worx battery powered jet washer and mucoff bike cleaner
  17. I have a rather large mate, must be 14-15 stone, 5'8, with a g/f about the same weight, and they go everywhere on his old cg125. I dread to think what it does to the bikes' suspension, but he's happy with it, so it must be OK
  18. Can't you fit a set of pedals and a dynamo, like old pushbike?
  19. That's because your string wasn't long enough
  20. Remember the hype around the coming of DTV? It was going to be great, etc, but look at the reality. Get bad weather and the signal is buggered and the picture breaks up. I have a digibox, along with a DTV with built in tuner, So I can record one channel while watching another, rare these days but just in case. Anyway what's the point of a box that needs to update itself every night at 3am, regardless of whether you are using it, and throws a wobbly if it does not update, just displays a spinning disc thing. They also keep buggering about with the channels, mainly due to the government reselling the frequencies off for 5G,etc, after auctioning them off to the mobile phone network in the first place. God knows how many channels I have taken up by all the late night "adult" crap, though the digital radio is handy. PS don't set your watch via the pips from radio one on digital, it's 3 seconds out to analogue radio due to conversion of analogue to digital and back when you receive it
  21. Has anyone thought about using the licence free two way radios that you can buy? They work over a good distance, and some even have split frequencies besides the main channels. I have one and I just stick a voice active mic and earpiece in it, but you can also fit a PTT to your handlebars. They use the 440 megahertz frequencies, and are good enough that some rescue groups use them instead of the more expensive, dedicated frequency Motorola radios that require licences to use and have a strict protocol on use. My latest one is from a brand called Cobra, but I also have a pair that came from Lidl, when the system was introduced, and they are just as good, they just don't have as many split channels.
  22. Google "motorcycle parking in Canterbury", there are a couple of options
  23. Considering I know someone with 13 bikes I would say no
  24. I had to change the drivers side one in my astra sport. I prefer stripping bike engines to that faff
