  1. @Ronnie Some good tips there. I have the TomTom Rider so don’t have that issue. @Stu When I bought my bike it came with a handlebar Sat Nav mount. When in the higher rev range my TomTom used to switch off!! After a bit of research I discovered that Kawasaki had only changed from an above the clock mount from that year. Obviously to save money. I bought the higher mount for not only the reason mentioned above, but the fact that I found it dangerous when I needed to look down to view the sat nav. Has anyone tried the free version yet?
  2. I’ve been singing this navigation tool’s praises for a long time now. I was lucky enough to have found them when they first started up and I paid about £50 for lifetime GOLD membership as an early adopter. They have not sat still since and have gone from strength to strength. Now it’s not just a web based app. They now have a fully working mobile app only recently finished. I received one of my regular emails from them the other day. I am in no way affiliated with them and don’t gain anything from this post. I just think it’s the best navigation tool out there. Check it out. There is a free version if you don’t want to subscribe that looks pretty good. https://mranavigationnext.app/freeuse/
  3. An interesting weekend to say the least. Well done Bradley Ray. He needs a full time ride.
  4. You state they are too big. In what way? Are you struggling to change gear in them? If you’re struggling to change gear. Do you know you can adjust the gear lever?
  5. They wooden’t even answer the phone!
  6. I can’t book a test ride.
  7. I think you can use a free toned down version. I was an early adopter years back and I got full gold membership for life for about £60. I got lucky really. Not sure what the subscription is now but I think they do tiers. It’s not just the app though. They do blogs and there are tonnes of instructions. They do webinars. They have real people supplying routes. You can share routes with friends and make routes public. Which means if you’re going somewhere you can look in that area and see if someone has already put up a great route and just use that. You can also tweak that route for yourself. It saves loads of time There’s all sorts on there.
  8. You could always buy the higher rated gear and take them somewhere to sew a full 360 zip in. Make sure it’s a sturdy zip with a big puller. Maybe go speak to a company near you and make sure they have the machines that can do the job before you buy the gear.
  9. If you live near a Sportsbikeshop store then take him along and speak to one of their staff. They are very experienced and will be able to help. There are so many variables when it comes to helmets. Head shape will determine which brand will be the best fit. The biggest bug bear for bikers is the wind noise. The cause of this can even come down to the bike you ride. Your brother needs to invest in ear plugs when riding his bike. Again there is a massive selection of different ear plugs trial and error will determine which ones suit him. I have settled on the Loop ear plugs with the Loop Mute insert. I have been through tonnes of others over the years. You’re a good brother. Maybe your brother will get you into bikes …..
  10. The wear marker is 1mm deep. The tyre is fine in the dry, but should it rain when out on that, then the tread won’t be deep enough to displace the water efficiently and it could be squeaky bum time, so very smooth throttle needed.
  11. The tyre is pretty much on the wear marker. I would get it changed asap. The pads should last until service time.
  12. I discovered Loop ear plugs last year and find them the best plugs I’ve used. I’m sure like most of us on here that we have been through loads of different types and been disappointed. I can highly recommend the Loop Quiet with the little Loop Mute insert. They are not cheap, but I use them for the bike, for sleeping and when driving on the noisiest road in the country. The A180. I use it to get to and from work. It’s been recorded at 90 db sat in a car!! The Loop’s let the right audio through and you don’t feel like you’re in a goldfish bowl like a lot of the disposable ones feel like.
  13. You may have to hit a certain number of posts for the PM’s to activate. It’s been few years since I joined, so can’t remember. Although saying that. I can’t remember what I had for my lunch!
  14. Personally I think you’re going to be hard pushed to beat anything that MyRoute-app hasn’t done/thought of already. This is best route planning app I’ve used, ever.
  15. Changed the air filter. Surprisingly very clean for two years being in. Although I haven’t put that many miles on it. Put a K&N in and it’s the oiled type, so will have to order some oil. Just waiting for the crush washer I ordered yesterday. As soon as that’s here it’ll be an oil a filter change. Checked the brake fluid as it’s been in there 2 years, but it looked really clean, so will leave it until winter.
  16. Tough one as I like both and take both to work in my pack up. Cashews, Roasted peanuts & Pistachio’s are my go to. I voted crisps in the end as there is probably more choice.
  17. It’s about time you retired Kevin…… please….
  18. This pillion is not just in your head is she?
  19. Not sure what you mean by AA but the elbow and shoulder armour that come with the jacket is D3O XTR and rated CE level 2. It has a pocket for the D30 XTR back protector which is optional and I have. As far as I’m aware. You can’t beat CE level 2 for the road.
  20. You’re gonna feel cramped on any sports bike. You can get rear sets that are adjustable to get the pegs a bit lower and further forward, but then you run the risk of ground the pegs. I couldn’t say about any naked bike as they’ve never been on my radar.
