1. Hi Isaac1993, Can you let us know who your insurer is? Usually with insurers, as Stu has said, they should try and settle your claim from you first reporting it to your settlement cheque reaching you within 28 days. I would suggest that if you haven't ready done so to check online for similar model, age of bike, and mileage to your stolen one to get a fair idea of what to expect from your settlement value. As it is a motorbike, they would usually go by market value.
2. I've had the Dr Marten's Garrick motorcycle boots for exactly a year now and they are bloody brilliant for my daily commute. The best way to describe them is like wearing really comfortable wellies but it's not wellies, them being slip resistant on the soles also helps on those really wet/cold Winter days. I really wish Dr. Martens made a new iteration to this boot as the original one came out so long ago and it's increasingly difficult to buy a replacement when the ones I have now are worn that I need a new pair. I brought my size (UK 9) in HelmetCity but it's only got size 11's left in stock now. https://www.helmetcity.co.uk/dr-martens-garrick-wp-boots-black-sale/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIzvL16snZ5wIVSLTtCh1Z6QN-EAQYASABEgLGk_D_BwE
3. Like RAYK47, I too wear/wore this jacket but the 2.0 trouser for my daily commute and it has held up very well for the Scottish weather. If it's heavy raining, I tend to wear a waterproof layer on top, mainly as another layer to keep me warm but it also dries faster that if I were to just wear the jacket and trouser alone. I've used it everyday this Winter thus far.
4. they are actually outside XD in an area where people steal bikes, don't think they want my written off non working honda and my just barely running 10 year old kymco XD I can't imagine those scooters still have valid road tax? lol
5. Thanks for recommendation Older biker I was looking for something for my Bell helmet too as their visors typically don't come with pinlock inserts.
6. Can't wait for this season as this will be first season I get to watch it from the start.
7. I know it's like 4 days since the bells but hopefully it's still OK to say Happy New Year everyone.
8. Nice bike grunthorpe, I love how there is a crash bar at the front. I guess it's pretty useful if you wanted to mount anything. I do love the colour profiles of that bike, looks great for it's age.
9. Welcome back to the fold! Can't wait for those photos.
10. The issue now is that Paypal works independently from eBay so not sure if that is what is causing these delays.
11. Looks like Old-codger foreshadowed this!
12. Sorry to hear this dynax. I'm sure you will get it next time! Every 5 years! Does your job demand this? Or are you just doing this as refreshers?
13. Did they provide photos of your bike when they issued you the ticket? Usually parking tickets would include photos so that it's indisputable in court?
14. I still commute to work but I have definitely seen less bikes at the parking bay where I park up in the morning and same goes for when I walk by it in the afternoons, guess all my local bikers aren't very local so don't want to risk it during Winter, it is bloody freezing in the mornings plus days when it rains so can't blame them.
15. I have these gloves and yes they do work quite well but if it's very very cold, you do feel cold fingertips after about an hours ride.
16. It sure is impressive what you did julianl, especially on a 125. How long did the whole trip take you? Cant believe your mate went on a trip like that after just obtaining his CBT, that's insane!
17. Insurers tend to try and settle Total Loss claims within 14-21 days of the accident date but many do struggle to fulfill that target. How long have you been on hire? I guess the third party insurer is trying to push out the settlement cheque as quickly as possible so that they can then stop paying for incurring hire charges. No doubt they would have tried contacting you to offer their services when the claim was logged on their system to mitigate their losses. I think the best form of action would be to not cash the cheque in as they would consider that a form of acceptance, I'm a bit confused from the above if you are dealing specifically with the third party insurer or your own insurer.
18. So does that mean no aches and pains then? Was that a lie too?
19. I would say it's closer to three parking spaces but it does depend on the car park but if your friend bonio gets good with two spaces, they should have no bother on test day.
20. Good Luck dynax Hopefully you get your full license before the Winter is here!
21. We have the pack talk and agree with everything except one thing! The 7 hours talk time!! Try 13 hours Fantastic bit of kit It’s certainly not cheap as CPT says but I guess you do treat these as little investments!
22. So you’re riding Bridget in the colder months and Xena in the warmer months??
23. Sorry to hear about your accident James in Brum, You should do some research online to get a rough guide on what the market value is for your bike, similar models, mileage and year. What is your own insurer saying the value is for your bike?
24. I’ve not been keeping up with this forum whilst I was away but I’m glad that you have found the bike CTRdemon. Looking to hear good news
