  3. Not always. I got a Western Digital 3Tb cloud storage unit to have it developing a fatal fault 2 weeks before the end of the warranty. Fortunately, WD customer service is excellent and I manage to get a replacement and recover all the information from the faulty drive. But you're right, if it was a unbranded unit I would have been stuffed
  4. Good morning everybody Cold, dark and icy roads. No wind and clear sky for now. Welcome to Scotland

    Garage heating!

I use 1 t-shirt, a thick shirt and a winter jacket. Depending on what I'm working on I some times start getting hot and need to take the jacket off. I got a pair of thermal gloves, that helps a lot together with thermal socks. If your hands and feet are warm then you won't feel the cold as much.
  6. Rare everywhere. Mine is second rarest at A (-)
  7. Or. maybe.... A Diet?
  8. The extraction process. "Different names for olive oil indicate the degree of processing the oil has undergone as well as the quality of the oil. Extra virgin olive oil is the highest grade available, followed by virgin olive oil. The word "virgin" indicates that the olives have been pressed to extract the oil; no heat or chemicals have been used during the extraction process, and the oil is pure and unrefined. Virgin olive oils contain the highest levels of polyphenols, antioxidants that have been linked with better health." Note that Southern European countries, Italy, Greece, Spain and Portugal produce the highest grade of oil. There are 2 main processes to cold extract the oil, centrifuge (lower grade)and pressed (the highest grade).

  13. Maybe I'm missing a business opportunity here...
  14. I imagine you mean using a hard brush. You can use a brush to force the cream into the leather and to penetrate the seams. I would still start with a cloth. can be a cheap dust cloth like the yellow cheap ones. then finish it by buffing as described. This is for each coat. Apply cream brush it in buff. The great advantage is that you either will get really fit or will run out of beer
  15. Don't be daft It is very simple and easy to make. Olive oil Beewax castor oil coconut oil I get my beewax from a local beekeeper but you can get it on ebay. Start with the beewax, it dictates how much you will have at the end. start with 10gr or thereabout Use an old pan so you don't have the missus going on about it melt the beewax, then add a teaspoon of castor oil, 1 tablespoon of coconut oil and 3 to 5 tablespoon of olive oil. The amount of olive oil will set the softness of the end product. So if you feel you prefer it to be softer just add a bit more. Softer will last less time but easier to apply. Let it cooldown to room temperature. It is ready for use Apply 1 generous coat then let it dry (usually overnight), buff with a clean cloth. Repeat 4 or 5 times if first time. following coats don't need to be as much. If you feel it is loosing waterproofing you can get a leather cleaner and redo the hole thing.
  16. I make my own waterproof cream. works a treat
  17. You need to "break" them. As you wear them it will become softer and more flexible. I would say that you maybe want to consider waterproofing them.

  24. Not even Billy Connolly would come up with this one... "Both admit making unauthorised alterations to a company vehicle before taking it on a trip to France in 2001, with no tax or insurance and at a cost to the NHS. They also admit bullying a colleague. However, they deny misconduct."
