  1. I had a few from both the .gov and the 4in1 app videos, so got a decent score on those.
  2. Quick ride then giev it a wash and chain job. Also removed those annoying rim stickers that it came with.
  3. cleaning the bike on Saturday and work on Sunday.... rare bit of overtime
  4. I used the Theory 4 in 1 app and the questions are pretty close, also the hazard perception again was pretty close and only costs a couple of quid. I know many people who have used it and said it helped.
  5. Get whatever you can afford the insurance on.
  6. When I first started playing around with cars, I bought tools as I needed them and ended up with a real mix n match set. Then I bought a couple of Halfords Professional (pre advanced range) trays, 1 sockets and the other spanners or wrenches if you prefer to call them. Over time whenever they broken I'd taken them bcak and they'd get replaced after some discussion about not still having a receipt umpteen years later. Lifetime guantee they say..... I did splurge on a decent box to put them all in, which meant I met a decent StrapOn tools merchant, who understands that I'm not in the trade, but he's quite accomadating when I need something. Slowly but surely the Halfords are becoming SnapOn.
  7. What interest is there for a 60 plate Kawasaki ER-6F, 20962, with a black widow exhuast, but a very clean bike for it's age.
  8. What didn't you like about the Versys out of interest?
  9. didn't touch it all long weekend!
  10. I was on a 125 for a year (covid and lack of tests being the reason) and I found it a great learning aid. It kept me out and about learning. I'd go with getting a 125 until you can book the 3-5 days off for the DAS course. I'm not aware of anywhere that hire's 125's, you'd be paying for a half day lesson with the school which will become expensive quickly. I'm also not aware of any companies that split the DAS down so that you can do a day a week sort of thing. Good luck with which ever way you decide to go down.
  11. When they get to driver themselves in a major city they will just sit there, not knowing if they can move due to said pedestrians and cyclist's.
  12. Solid lines or not it doesn't stop the impatient from pushing their way through the traffic. This was one of the main reasons the southbound tunnel stopped being used either way due to the amount of bikers not making it to the other end.
  13. Spent the afternoon having an IAM taster ride. From my memory of the Bikesafe course I completed last year, it's very close as the principles are along the same lines. I just need to convine myself I should now do the complete course.
  14. Bought a Cardo Freecom 4X and fitted the mounts to my two lids. The JBL speakers sound ok around the house, but the test will be when I'm out over the weekend. The fitting pair for the second helmet are sadly not JBL's, and sound the worse for it.
  15. Small little loop..... SE London > Hastings (stop for late breakfast) > Rye > Dungeness (lunch stop) > Hythe > Ashford > Back to SE London. Out at 10:30 back home around 18:00
  16. Bought myself a phone holder.... Just got to work out where I want to fit it on the handle bars.
  17. I snow foam and never had any issues, the main difference is when using a jet wash I always have the head a few feet away. I know bearings are good at dealing with these environments, but chains not so much IMHO. So Most of the bike is fine, but chain and brakes are the two main area's I would use lower pressure.
  18. So I understand that most cut the chain off and just fit and rivet a new one on, so an angle grinder is the easy part, but which rivet tool are the go to one's to buy? I've just been paid and need to make sure that I've got a new tool for the box.
  19. Not been to whistler yet, as you say it's bloody expensive. I was heading to Big White/Silver Star two years ago when covid kicked off. I would have been out there a week before the resort locked down. The holiday company I used was fantastic and refunded what the insurance didn't cover, so I'm being a loyal customer and rebooked now things have opened up again. If anyone is wanting to head to Canada I really cannot recommend Frontier Travel enough. Small family company who really are great at what they do.
  20. I'm off to Sun Peaks, so Kamloops region. I'm a bit bored with Banff/Sunshine even given the three year gap, so thought I'd try somewhere new
  21. Haircut then out for a ride on Saturday, Sunday will be packing for my little trip to Canada for some snow time.
  22. So cleaned and oiled th chain on Sunday. For some reason I saw the chain when I was getting on the bike to come home from work. Silkolene Chain Lube.... more like f*cking water!!! Fuming is an understatement. Cleaned using parafin, wiped dry then two rotations of the chain, spraying the inside and outside links. Recommendations for a new lube welcomed, plus do I need to replace the chain?
