I fell asleep on my MZ 300 travelling back from RAF Marham to RAF Wattisham after a long shift that finished at 2am.. Went up the embankment at the side of the dual carriageway just west of Ipswich came to a stop and fell off. I was unhurt and the bike was ok so i took off my helmet and went to sleep ... as you do .. Terrified female police officer woke me up about 4 hours later ... she thought i was dead ...

I lean when driving around corners in the car .... or so the wife tells me after she has stopped laughing ....

We couldn't find anyone selling wooden crosses which we plant every year so my big lad made me one. To the memory of John Gostick and Tim Bell, I strapped them in, did the start and pre flights, gave them a cheery wave as they taxied out ... And carried Tims coffin, containing god knows what. They hit Mt. Usborne at 600mph 23 Sqdn Royal Air Force, Phantom FGR2, Falkland Islands Air Defence, 1983 Even now I have tears in my eyes ..............................

Rotherham ... it's grim up north ... Not a bad crowd including our local Labour MP Dennis Healy and a number of Councillors ... and 2 very heavily armed Police officers and 4 unarmed Police officers ... who remained disengaged from the parade ... as they should. British Legion had a chap blow the whistle at the appointed time and when it finished ... Sorry about the photo edit all ... seems the chap that was videoing was a member of the EDL, part of a group of EDL supporters at the Cenotaph that we have to put up with in Rotherham .... which is why we had the heavy Police presence. They behaved well and respectfully.

There is a clock on the Himalayan instrument binnacle but it's too small for me to see !!

I need a clip or fitting to attach a Casio watch .. with the strap removed ... to the handlebars ...or a Garmin male fitting i can stick to the back of the watch to use a standard Garmin cycle mount ....... any ideas ?

Oh please , not again . WD40 is 70% solvent and 30% who knows what and it is completely useless as a corrosion inhibitor . And that was the whole point of the post !! Ay Caramba !!! With a positive outcome ...

The other side of the coin ... The dark side ...... My 2018 bike was never washed ... sprayed in WD40 .. And more WD40 ... And washed in cold water ... Not good enough .. read, rear calliper seized ... Bad !! Factory recall ... Huzzah ... Result ... New rear calliper .... New front calliper, new rear master cylinder ... Well worth not doing good maintenance ...

I have most Mondays off .... Train work and child care Tuesday to Friday... additional childcare Saturday and Sunday .... School run Monday morning ... then escape on 2 wheels for the day .... Bicycle or Himma .... choices , choices ...

I'm off for a ride out after school run on Monday morning ... (19th ) .... East and north East of Rotherham ..A far as the coast to the east and over the bridge as as far north as Hornsea .. any one want to meet up ? 1000hrs until 1500hrs max.....

The girls have gone for 2 days supervised contact with their mum... Connor is with us ... Tomorrow morning, early, our 2 year old will be dropped off ... we will take him back to his 2 Mummies late Sunday afternoon... Sunday evening the girls will be dropped off by SS .... Baths, hair, uniforms, packed lunches ... and another week starts In amongst all this i'll get out for a ride on my bicycle, my motorbike .... and take Jules out for a short walk ...Cook a few meals and take Con and the baby out to fly our drones ....

Many years ago on a planet far away ... I gave my ex everything, i rode away on a Honda CJ 250, a yellow one, and a rucksack on my back ..... gave her the house, car the lot ... because it's just stuff. 32 years later ... I have riches beyond the imagination, my wife, children everywhere who love me, call me Dad and Grandad, without a single genetic link. A house, a ratty old camper van, an old but good caravan in Cornwall .. MOTORBIKES .... our new stuff.. our family stuff ... Give her the lot and start again .... it's just stuff ... If it leaves you with nothing .... then fine, start again and leave the pain behind you ... Move on ... because the "YOU" without stress or baggage will love again ... And smile ...

I wasn't aware of permanent snow in yourkshire I must admit I feel right at home anywhere near or on any mountain. In the sea, surfing, or high on a mountain ridge ... my heart soars .....

We have lots of issues in our life which should lead to depression and sadness ... so i'm told by every Wellbeing and Mental Health programme on the media ... But we're ok .. Daughters a 20 year heroin and cocaine addict, sons gay but went through a phase of transitioning to Kate before his friends on the Nottingham scene, in Rotherham and his family helped him find his way back to John... and his life partner Zac .. Our daughters children are in our care, permanently... and we have a 2 year old boy we have shared care with, we took his cocaine addicted mother off the streets ( very pregnant girl sleeping in a doorway in Rotherham, we couldn't leave her there ) and cared for her during her 3rd trimester ... and took care of the little bundle from 11 days old until he got his forever family at 9 months. My wifes convinced i have ptsd from my time in the forces ... But how are we feeling .... We live in a bubble of love, tears are accepted without question, if i start to crack one of the children will give me a snuggle and we all pull together .. again ... I cycle as my blow off valve ... Jules sews .. the children, 1 very nearly an adult, have their own coping mechanisms .. Social Services, CAMHS, Early Help have come and gone ... It's not how we ever saw our lives in our 60's ... We're good ............. for now ....

My favourite breakfast is Heinz Chicken soup, drunk out of a mug, next to the tent, above the snowline, cooked on a Primus or Trangia ..... as the dawn breaks across the snowfield ....... Ahhh happy days .....
