1. Welcome to the forum eBay seems to have plenty of them unless I'm missing something https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=xl600+piston+1983&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_osacat=0&_odkw=xl600+piston
2. You said you don't know what it is or what state its in. I can't help with the state but can say a Baby Blade is normally a nickname given to a CBR400. I hope it turns out well for you
3. According to google the fault code is as follows #46 is a fuel Injection power supply problem . Battery, charging circuit, faulty wiring or connector. Sounds like it isnt happy with a different battery. Another quick google shows that it should have a 12V, 6ah, 85 CCA battery. I'd say therein lies the issue
4. I wouldn't get too excited Baby Blade
5. I did something similar when I was 18/19 Bought a grey import scooter and was finding it next to impossible to get insurance on it (They had never heard of the brand so was unwilling to insure) I used it as transport for work while still trying to get it insured and was pulled by a police bike trap (I wasn't speeding it was a 50cc ) 6 points and £380 fine that is not fun at such a young age as insurance is high enough without getting the added penalty price hike. If something similar happened to your son he would also be classed as riding with no insurance and no license. Not worth it I think P.S. The garage guy will tell you it doesn't matter as he wants to sell you the bike and make some money
6. My Wife posted this on her Facebook today
7. If you cant see any other nuts, bolts or circlips surrounding it (look underneath too) I'd give it a few taps with a rubber mallet. Sometimes they can need a little persuasion
8. Me and the Wife are going up to see her Mum this Saturday (she lives approx 30 miles away) We are going to sit in her garden and have a meal with her (also will add we can access her back garden without going in the house), We will all keep our distance plus her garden is bigger than the local park As far as I'm concerned that is perfectly fine and to be honest I don't care if someones says it isn't. My Wife is much more aware of the risks and dangers than me being that she daily has to suit & mask up before going into peoples houses to do examinations etc (She's a community midwife) and she agrees with me that there is no real reason to not to go. I posted this on our family group chat today which pretty much sums up my thoughts at the moment regarding the rules Acceptable Risk Dangerous & unnecessary breach of quarantine rules
9. I think the scariest thing about the boss hoss would be dropping it
10. I use a mallet and vice grips for everything so no offense taken

Hello to all

Welcome to the forum
12. It looks better with the box in my opinion!! Original Newly modified one I hope you keep the airbox for when it's time to sell I'm only lightly joking of course, in the end it's your bike and you should do what you want with it. I'm just speaking from the experience of wishing I hadn't done a lot of things to mine which at the time I thought looked good
13. fastbob From what I heard a few weeks ago, recovery is still happening for bikes but if they can't repair at roadside all they can do for you is take it to a garage. Not bring it home or give you a lift anywhere Cars are different as you can sit in your own car while being towed
14. I'll need plenty of mistake space
15. Good point Stu Premade clutch gasket alone for mine is around £19
16. That'll be the vacuum hoses for the petcock. I'm not actually sure if there is a workaround for what to do with those besides swapping the petcock for a non vacuum one. Someone else who hasn't been day drinking want to help out?
17. fastbob That would certainly do
18. Richzx6r Don't care I like em
19. I still want one of these, and its doable at least Makes me smile everytime I look at one. It just "looks" like a motorbike should to me. Though I'd change the pipe on this one
20. You could at least leave some money on the dresser
21. Running lean means it needs more fuel so will want a bigger jet and/or altering the pilot screw. Remember not to throw away the airbox
22. James in Brum Its called google timeline. http://www.google.com/maps/timeline I think you need to have google maps installed on your phone and switch it on somewhow
23. Just had a look at my wifes. She is a community midwife and has been working throughout. She isn't very impressed with me in comparison
24. It's off I left the bolts soaking in penetrating fluid overnight and used my bolt grip sockets. Made it easier having the engine out as I could stand the frame up to give myself better visibility and grip The rear light was a bit more difficult. The screws were rounded off and as soft as cheese. My screw extractors might as well of been regular drill bits I gave up in the end and ground them off Had a big fight getting the rear brake pedal, rods and arms off too, felt like they were welded into the frame Tomorrow I'll give the frame and engine a good clean up in readiness for painting, By the look of the frame I think the grinder will be coming out again
