  13. It was my Wifes a couple of weeks ago. Not only could we not go out, she couldn't even have a takeaway as it was the day all the snow came down so we couldn't get a delivery. I made her Sausage and chips
  14. I was once chatting to the Owner of a Jewellery store I worked at. He told me a story of how in his younger days he went over to The Riviera Maya in Mexico to teach English as a second language. He went to the office and introduced himself etc and they told him they hadn't got things arranged yet and to come back in a week and it should all be sorted. He was nonplussed, figured he could do a bit of sightseeing and enjoy himself. This carried on for 8 months before they finally sent him home!! He had an apartment as part of his contract and was getting money paid into his account every month so was having a great time. All he had to do was go into the office once a week to see if they had anything for him to do and the answer was always no
  15. Tax office and Wifes payroll get the nod from me today 3 months ago my Wife transferred to a different job (Still midwifery but working as a parent teaching support thingy) her first wage came and she was double taxed . Rang payroll and explained and she was refunded on her next wage but this time they didn't take anything out. No tax has been taken out on this months either. So thats 3 months of wages that have had no tax taken off. Her payroll doesn't have a clue what is going wrong. Those experienced in these matters know it doesn't mean free money, it means at some point we will get a letter demanding we pay back all the money that is due. Probably with threats of added charges etc. Last time this happened to us was when she started as a midwife and we came off working tax credit. They continued to pay us for a year despite repeated phone calls and letters asking them to stop!! Then we eventually got the "you owe us lots of money" letter in the brown envelope
  16. We got asked as well. They say its sent out randomly but as my Wife works for NHS I was sceptical about that
  17. @Six30 ugh, white wine I'd have the glass though!!
  18. I like a nice solid heavy glass to drink out of. Traditional whisky ones are too light and delicate for me
  19. @Stu yours will!!
  20. Anything more heathen than drinking Bowmore from a branded Jack Daniels glass? Got it as a Christmas present years ago. The glass was nicer than the honey jack. That stuff was foul!!
  21. Not something I've noticed with Spirits. If I open a bottle of Wine I always have to finish it that day as it always tastes "off" to me the next.
  22. I've always been a big fan of Japanese culture. I like a lot of their Anime and Tv shows as well, I can only watch them when Wife isn't about though as they drive her mad Theres a show on Netflix called Midnight Diner that is good. Also Samurai Gourmet. They remind me of tv shows I used to watch as a kid, with a lesson at the end for all
