    Welcome LeeC1982

    Welcome to the forum
  2. I think it's due to where all the metal is usually sourced from nowadays. It's not a patch on the quality of yesteryear Same with tools
  3. Happened to me years ago in my old Corsa. I sat in the car and the noise of it breaking was so loud I thought someone had chucked a brick out of a window onto the roof any comments about me being too fat as the reason for the breakage will be dealt with via my keyboard mod powers
  4. Not seen one in Leeds but to be fair its a big place and I dont go that often I'll definitely give them a go, I like decent burgers
  5. I doubt this will be the problem so don't bother trying but I'll share my boiler woes from probably ten years ago now. Combi boiler packed in around November so during the time you want it on. We had that British gas monthly payment scheme so called them out. Guy turned up next day, spent five minutes and said it was the PCB, he would order one and it'd take 5 days. Part came to house in 2 days, called but was told it'd still be on the 5th day before someone could come fit it. I wanted to do it myself but was persuaded not to by better half. Different Guy came out, fitted it, still not working. He said it was the thermistors that needed replacing and said too many plumbers just think they need to change PCB without checking them. Once again part was ordered and it would be five days. When the plumber came (different one again) and fitted the new thermistors it still wouldn't fire up properly. He said he wasn't sure of the problem and will get someone to call me later. Got a call to say they will send out someone to have a proper look at it, in yes you guessed it, 5 days!! My wife took kids and went to stay with her mum as she couldn't cope anymore ( I think our youngest was around 3 so not good for her either) I got fed up so decided to pull the thing apart myself and look. I knew the issue was that it was only partially igniting and then it would go out. After a lot of checking and experimenting I noticed that the igniting wire (piezoelectric type) was quite low down. I got a pair of long nose pliers and pulled it up a bit and voila it fired up perfectly!!! In fact it performed faultlessly for another five years until we moved house. I've always wondered if the guy that was supposed to come would of discovered the problem or ordered more new parts.
  6. Yep, £9 for burger and £4 for fries. £5 for her milkshake and £4 for her fries plus my drink was £4 Just realised that adds up to £26 Still a lot but they are very nice, My wife has banned me from going more than once a month
  7. I'll keep an eye out for them As far as fast food burgers go you can't go wrong with 5 guys but feck me are they expensive!! I bought myself a burger, fries and a drink and my daughter just wanted fries and a milkshake..........£27
  8. Got to agree with you, I think it will bounce back in the future but for now I can see it being some difficult times ahead
  9. R.I.P. to a true motorsport legend
  10. Feel same, I've just been working flat out recently. Covid has actually made our shop busier than its ever been! We were literally breaking the shops record for takings every friday for about 8 weeks in a row I know I should be thankful and grateful as so many others are out of work or reduced shifts but I'm f**ked!!
  11. Hello & welcome back
  12. I thought the same thing. Can you tell what my Wife does as a job? I've seen those initials for years now.

    Argos

I've used it as I'd rather pay £3.99 than go into the middle of Bradford on a Saturday afternoon (or at any other time come to think of it)

    Argos

Agreed. I've used it myself loads of times. £3.99 for same day delivery is bloody good whichever way you look at it.
  15. I remember you!!
  16. I use my reversing camera when coming out of the dead end side street I park on at work. Mainly because the camera lights up the pitch black street whereas I can't see a bloody thing in the mirror
  17. Are there any loose or exposed wires where the connector block was located? I'm just wondering if someone has used an old block as a repair or similar at some point and it still had the wires in it. @WD40 I don't think whoever tried it on mine was very competent
  18. I'd say cut as well. Years ago when my bike got stolen that was how I found all the wiring behind ignition, they had cut all the wires from the blocks and tried twisting together different ones to get it to start. Thankfully its not quite as simple as its made to look on old 80's films and I found it abandoned approx 10 minutes walk from my house
  19. ouch!! That could of been very nasty
  20. @Mississippi Bullfrog Loads of cars now have difficult to see indicators. I find it strange when I see an older car and its so easy to spot the big rectangular blinking light!

    Sad news

Really sorry to here that. We are here if you need to talk.
  23. I was going to say it was probably due to having no baffles in the exhaust but a quick google shows it does have them!
  24. @smallfrowne Most likely they'd be fine, was just erring on the side of caution after all the trouble he's had already!! I too will take no responsibility for any leaks that may occur Here is a guide to different o-ring materials if anyone is interested. https://www.martins-rubber.co.uk/blog/an-o-ring-material-selection-guide/
