I have the XSR great bike like you say, first thing I did was recover the seat! Spark plugs are a pain at 12k intervals but I have seen bikes doing over 100,000 miles, reliability is not really an issue on those. I put a screen on mine, anything over 70 is a pain. One of the reasons I went with it was the weight, easy to get in and out and well balanced. You can customise them to suit your own taste. Sometimes I wish for more power but I stay clear of motorways as much as possible. Good luck with your search, let us know if you find anything!

Hi, I want to watch the racing. Motogp and the like but I'm not paying £40 a month for TNT or whatever and even the motogp site is 200 euros now. So I'm exploring the world of VPNs. Anybody use them and what can I expect? Thanks in advance as always.

You could also raise the forks through the clamps 20mm or so, should you need it.

There is no adjustment in the shocks on those, to gain or lose enough height. Lowering kit is the way to go.

Morning, welcome. I'm a motogp fan. Doesn't seem to be much appetite for the racing on this site. I use motogpforum for a more insightful view, although sadly it can be a bit polarised, seems that's the way of the world now.

Have you ever considered telling them? You know, to help them? There is a kid around here very similar and one bit of me thinks help him out, and another side says no f**k him. What's the worst that could happen? You could have a friend for life!

Things that make it cheaper are; Crime free post code. If you live in a city centre it's more expensive, if you live in a conservative rural village, cheaper. Age and experience. Young and just got the bike, no experience more of a risk. Old with lots of no claims bonus and a clean license, cheaper. Then there are the bits and bobs. Not using it to commute to work, being married, limited mileage, can show them you are a sensible person. Security devices, there are lists of what counts towards a discount. Having advanced riding skills, not sure what they are, never had any. By you getting a 125 your postcode and age I'm guessing may be your biggest enemy. Have you got a granny that lives in the sticks?

Temperature changes seem to make a big difference too.

What l do when it comes to renewal is have a price in mind. This year's was cheaper than last which was acceptable. One of the things is l have a lot of changes to standard spec, exhaust, suspension, bars, tail tidy etc so even with a comparison site quote by the time you have declared it all the price goes up. Auto renewal they have all the details.

Yeah l got lazy. Both quotes with Ageas but Bennett's wanted twice as much as Devitt.

Update. And a warning. So my renewal came through, the price was not too bad on an auto renew. I thought I'd change my occupation and the commuting bit to keep it all up to date etc. for the new policy that starts in 3 weeks. The person on the phone said because of these changes a new quote was needed and the existing policy would have to change immediately. Then they said they couldn't change this policy and l had to start a new policy altogether. At £40 more expensive. Bennett's. Quick search and half an hour on the phone to Devitt and I halved the cost. All changes declared. I'm a house person with no commuting to work. I'm happy with that. The warning is if you do change your policy mid term beware of hidden costs, even when trying to do the right thing they will do anything to get more out of you.

If the fluid is getting dirty when bleeding there must be dirt in there somewhere. A trapped corner of crap hiding in one of the corners. Did you strip the calipers pistons out job?

It doesn't look that bad to me. I would be looking to see how old they actually are, should be a date code on them, before rushing to replace them. I guarantee you they will be so different with the proper air pressure. They will look squared off more flat.

It will feel like a different bike altogether now. You should be pleasantly surprised.

Good choice, not the cheapest option but you should get the majority of your investment back at sale time. Head and shoulders above the Chinese alternatives.

I was taught counter steering and target fixation by a chap l worked with many moons ago, lovely bloke, l wonder where he is now. Comes in very handy indeed trying to muscle the GSXR around. Much much easier on the Yamaha but still need it, when a corner turns in sharper than you thought.
