  1. Speed limits exist for two reasons. 1. Because the public can't be trusted to drive at an appropriate speed for the conditions 2. Revenue generating. If the public could be trusted, there would be no need for 20mph speed limits past schools for example. All that woild be required is a sign saying "School". It wouldn't even need to say "slow down" or any words like that... But we live in a world full of morons where if you consider yourself to be above average ability at anything the majority are worse than you, and rules exist for the lowest denominators...
  2. Still amazes me that they aren't all systematically vandalised. Would be easy to ensure they cost more to repair than they generated in revenue but the Brits are too nice and don't do things like that.
  3. Hey welcome, I've got a Gillera runner that's been sat in a garage for a few year, and im thinking exactly the same!! I've not had a chance to look yet but I was planning to do an oil change new battery clean the air filter replace the two stroke oil and petrol. Remove the sparkplug squirt in some lube and gently hand crank it over to make sure it's well lubricated before replacing the plug and starting her up! If it runs great, if not then it's diagnostics time... Think I might also need to do the fork seals too and not sure if the conditions of the tyres - they might have gone hard/cracked. Great fun bikes so definitely worth a punt. Edit.. this might be useful. https://scootergrisen.dk/scooterhjemmeside/download/gilera_runner_rstsp_servicemanual.pdf https://scootergrisen.dk/scooterhjemmeside/download/haynes_gilera_scooters_service_and_repair_manual_small.pdf
  4. how about an R nine-T with a low seat? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2017-bmw-r-nine-t-scrambler/163223702627?hash=item2600e40c63:g:0dYAAOSwcjRbTJCI&autorefresh=true
  5. The cheap pikey way is to use a cable tie. Put it round the rollers a few links apart, pull it tight to create the kink, chop it off when done. Sorted.
  6. Hmm... That's not a bad idea. Might have a good Google of that ! It would look like a crazy supermoto! What size wheels does it have as standard?? If you could fit 17inch wheels your choice of tyres would be greater too.
  7. Wonder if you could fit smaller wheels?? Gearing and Speedo would need attention but might be an option especially for winter you could have winter tyres and summer tyres.
  8. They can look really cool actually. I'd have one to mess about on.

    Rev counter

Nope, you will be the first one ever to do this. Plenty of digital options available that take very little wiring.
  10. Turn it upside down and it's a woman with a fat arse riding a very small bike.
  11. Typical remoaners scaremongering logic... Apparently UK drivers will not be allowed to drive in the EU and EU drivers will not be allowed to drive in the UK for 11 years post brexit....
  12. ive been baiting the remoaners on twitter for the last couple of days. hilarious bunch of idiots! but yeah, UK doesn't need its own sat nav. we don't build our own military vehicles anymore, we buy them in ready fitted with GPS so cant even argue its for defense purposes. its a stupid waste of money.
  13. I've got a GT-air. Excellent helmets. Shoei helmets are always very good. Only complaint is that the internal visor doesn't come down far enough so with the main visor open you get a blast of air under the internal visor. Its really annoying.
  14. Didn't it come with a pinlock in the box?? Or did you throw it out with the packaging... I bet you did.
  15. Someone wants your bike, they put glue in the unattended lock. You pull up for work, can't lock your bike, leave it unlocked and minutes later it's gone...
  16. take a look at the connectors i used for my DIY power distribution box https://www.themotorbikeforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=62983&p=982540
  17. Its not very big but judging by the condition of many bikes you could easily just nick one and stick any old number plate on and nobody would know.. So many beat up old cars and bikes they cant be too bothered by MOTs tax insurance etc..
  18. Local scooter hire company had new bikes delivered yesterday. I saw them arrive and watched them open the crates as I was curious to see what bikes they were. Today the crates are still exactly where they left them!!.. imagine living in a place where it's ok to leave brand new bikes sat out overnight without fear of them being nicked!!
  19. Cabletie..
