yep, exactly, but they do sometimes have some good end of line bargains... I once went in there just for a browse, got chatting to the manager, and left the store having bought two HP laptops that were end of line/ex-display and a stack of playstation games for a quid each, and he threw in some laptop bags too! I sold one laptop on eBay and sold the other to my sister (very cheap). The playstation games I sold as a job lot. I pretty much doubled my money in few days, so i cant be too harsh on them. Funny thing was, one of the bags he grabbed from the storeroom was not ex-display, it was one of his staff member's bags! so when i got it home it had his lunchbox and car keys inside... problem was, i was living 100miles away from the store and due to fly out on holiday the next day!

My nomination is for all of the cyclists who flamed me on twitter today for daring to suggest that cyclists might be safer if the took a basic training course that taught them how to ride more defensively and not trust their lives to other road users... Apparently suggesting cyclists do shoulder checks is the equivalent of raping their unborn daughters..

If there is no rush, why not get the existing head rebuilt/reconditioned? Also won't the 150 kit need a larger head anyway?

Putting all the extra weight of the flipped up bit so high is certainly going to increase the forces on the riders neck as the center of gravity will be higher when flipped up - that's just basic physics. But, it's going to depend a lot on the weight of the helmet.. cheap lidl flip fronts weigh a ton, whereas the more expensive ones will be lighter... Helmet weight is going to be a large contributing factor in deciding if your neck snaps or not and I would guess a flip front will always be heavier than a non-flip front.

I thought all the fixed penalty fines went up to £100 last year, Joe?....... I had a flip front for a while......probably the most uncomfortable and heaviest lid I've owned in the past 10 years.....really didn't get on with it......donated it to Stu's mate a few years back...... Yeah probably gone up, but it's just a fine, no points, or at least it was when the topgear bloke tried it to see what happened.

The fine for riding with no helmet at all is only 60 quid so I wouldn't worry about it... But I don't like the flip fronts, full face only for me..

Get a Chinese bike and learn your legal rights and ensure the dealer you buy it from fixes every single problem under warranty just as they are legally obligated to do... You will get enough use from the bike to get to your big bike test
