  7. My HJC was very comfy and worked well, in some ways it was better than my Shoei GT-air. I gave mine to a mate who was starting out, he loves it. I think HJC are the largest manufacturer of helmets in the world (read that somewhere, no idea where) so don't be worried about a HJC helmet!

    new battery prep

I won't buy motobatt again after mine lasted such a short amount of time. Granted I let it discharge, but I've done that with many batteries and they all recovered.. not the motobatt battery, that said it was full then died on the ride to last year's rally. I swapped it out at the petrol station and put it in the bin! https://www.themotorbikeforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=60733&p=978355&hilit=Motobatt#p978355
  9. Happy birthday mate!! Booked the hot weather for it so the kissagram was nice and sweaty??
  10. Throw it back at the garage who "fixed" it and get them to sort the problem out.
  11. Contact BMW head office and explain how you've been treated. They will be interested to hear how one of the branches is giving the brand a bad name. Also contact trading standards and explain the situation. Also contact DVSA see if they can help with you being sold a damaged repaired car. All else fails, trade it in at the same dealer - dump the problem right back on them!
  12. But it also needs to reapply the brake after releasing it. That's why there is a big pump in the abs controler. Otherwise if it was just releasing pressure in an emergency situation your brake lever would pull back to the handle as the pressure was removed many times per second. Brakes are also integrated with stability control systems.. not sure if that's the case in bikes yet, but certainly in cars the stability control system will use the abs system to apply individual brakes. Screenshots from my BMW diagnostics software.. I don't think it would take many lines of code for BMW software team to have the pump spin up, apply pressure and close the valves to keep the pressure in the callipers..
  13. Because stolen bikes are normally replaced with another bike, so bike theft generates more sales! Councils don't care enough to spend money on anchor points.

    Election

If you do all those things you will push the big multinational companies away, and scare off the financial sector. With Brexit many companies are already considering leaving the UK in favour of mainland Europe. Also you will cause a brain drain as the high tax payers decide to emigrate or structure their finances in a way to avoid the tax entirely. Don't tax income, tax savings that would encourage people to spend more money rather than save it. Net result would be a boost to the economy and the generation of more jobs thus reducing the welfare payouts... Although the lazy Brits would still sit on their arses and moan about "the immigrants" taking their jobs.. lol
  15. Remove the gear a clutch levers and take them with you. Edit: I knew we had spoken about ABS locking before https://www.themotorbikeforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=62909&p=981504&hilit=Abs+lock#p981504
