How do I feel fresher then having been sat in the car for 5 hours? A little chilly across the moors, but then I hadn't wrapped up. At some point after this picture, my front right indicator stem decided to break. No known reason, I guess it will be insulating tape for going home That is a good outing alright 200 mls Good day for it Quote

Now feel like I've been at a Motörhead gig. Stick them in the freezer for a few hours first next time. It makes a lot of difference. 3 Quote

I went out yesterday, and I was so glad that I packed my quilted jacket liner into my bag, that wind is evil. 2 Quote
V650 Posted Sunday at 18:17 Posted Sunday at 18:17 Been Busy today Fitted a Ring for a tie down strap as the bike lives outside and it seems every few weeks now we get a bit of a storm So the loop is to fix a ratchet strap over the bike and tie it down when the weather gets windy Also fitted a new VX3 chain and front and rear JT sprockets to the CB500X Old chain had 19K KM on it 8 Quote
Simon Davey Posted Sunday at 18:19 Posted Sunday at 18:19 Love shiny new stuff, and it's great how something so mechanically important can make the bike look so good. 3 Quote

I need to take it for a quick spin to try it out. Then I fitted a new screen to the MV, one I made earlier in the week by cutting one down. Sadly it got a few scratches when I was sanding it down, but I'll put up with that if it reduces the wind noise. I was thinking of doing the same I have the old CB500X screen in the shed and was thinking of cutting it down did you use a jigsaw or similar to cut your screen ? Cheers Quote

Cheers I used a dremel to do the cut and the initial filing back to the line. Then sandpaper and block, P60, P180, then emery paper at P600 P1200 P1800. The cut itself is perfect; you'd never know it was home-spun. 2 1 Quote

Throttled Posted Monday at 11:43 Posted Monday at 11:43 I took everything off the bike that I am keeping for my next bike, gathered all relevant documents, deleted routes and places from the sat nav and touched up some rust. At least the decent paint I bought is the same colour as the new bike. 3 Quote
rob m Posted Monday at 16:53 Posted Monday at 16:53 Locked and loaded. Got three days off and the weather looks great, I plan to fully enjoy the sunshine, it's been a long time coming. 9 Quote
veracocha Posted Monday at 18:21 Posted Monday at 18:21 I fitted handlebar risers on my BMW F900XR. Ordered from ebay for £18.00 I was expecting them to go in the bin after watching a few youtube videos but I am most surprised. I ran a vernier over them and I admit that they are well matched in every sense. The accompanying bolts were iffy but that was easily solved with spares of my own. To think I nearly forked out £100 for Wunderlich stuff. 5 Quote
Simon Davey Posted Monday at 22:05 Posted Monday at 22:05 (edited) Took a few hours over the past couple of days. I've just finished and I'm delighted. It was all so darn fiddly though. Sat-nav mounted on the accessory bar, running the cable and extending it took forever, but no dramas. After fitting the nav mount, I fitted the screen back in place, but I fitted a Puig touring screen which I got on eBay for £56 delivered. Then finally, I fitted an aluminium Givi adapter plate to carry my Monokey top box. It's not an ADV top box, but it'll do for now. Edited Monday at 22:06 by Simon Davey 9 Quote

Capt Sisko Posted Tuesday at 13:21 Posted Tuesday at 13:21 (edited) New tyres day Pair of Michelin* PR6 GT. Bikes always feel better with new tyres don't they. *Currently with a £30 cash back deal. EDIT:- Just checked on the invoice of the last set of 6GTs I bought and I've got a wopping 9,500 miles out of them, and they were still legal, albeit quite squared off. Considering that's on a R1250RT which is a big old bird making 136bhp and more torque than the Queen Mary, I think that's pretty good. I also checked the front brake pads whilst the wheels were of and after 30,450 mile the OEM pads look good for more. And no, I'm not Capt Slow, more like Capt Learned to read the road and maybe don't brake as much as others. Edited Tuesday at 18:23 by Capt Sisko 5 Quote
Fender1515 Posted Tuesday at 18:30 Posted Tuesday at 18:30 That was a whole heap of fun. I have been putting in the hours for our business, BUT, today was not one of those days! Downed tools, well switched it off, and off on the Bike at 1pm, Yorkshire Dales, bit around the Peak District, bit more across the dales. A & B Roads, loads of pot holes, Farm tractor muck, sorry SD but you folks are raising the risk bar! Totally dialled into the bike and it's running, riding, stopping and shaking it's head when I get a bit laddish, so why was I going to swop this one out, brain fog maybe! First proper solo ride of the year, very happy chappy!!!! I think 2025 on two is looking great PS: We spent a great weekend up in the Lake District last, if I had to choose, I'd be picking up the helmet 6 Quote

Thanks, and Yes indeed. Just a couple of planes, both trainers, and one I never flew. I found the helicopter much easier, but that's not been in the air for 15 years. I need to sell them on, and admit I don't have time. Bought new radio gear etc (Spectrum NX8) a few years ago, thought I'd have a revival, but it all just needs to go on eBay. Did you have a warning label on the Puig regarding melting of dash / clocks Or is it just on the Versys version? Strangely, it's not shown when purchasing! Quote

It was second hand, but the guy did put the stickers back on, which just said"don't use solvent cleaners" in several languages. Despite it's complex shape, it's quite flat overall. Quote
