Good Evening! Well, it's official! After Friday I will be redundant!

I'll get 3 month's money in lieu of notice and the maximum (capped) redundancy of about £17k :thumb:

But it's not enough to retire on. I'm going to have to find a new way to earn some money

Hopefully it gives you enough breathing space to find a new job mate. All the best in the job hunting Rennie

Now you know, I certainly hope you find something that you can make a living at. Good luck in the search, hopefully it will be something that you can enjoy too, just like the last one. :thumb:

As one door closes another one will open, have a break for a week and then start having a look around.

Good luck and all the best for the future :thumb:

I am going fekking loopy, going to tax the bike this morning, I could have sworn the reminder was in a safe place and I saw it last night, no trace of it anywhere, I need a holiday 🤪

All the best in your hunt for a job.

Hopefully you’ll find something you enjoy and is rewarding - not just in financial terms (though, obviously that would be good, too).

Last day? Can be pretty weird walking out for the last time. Hope there's good things on the way 👍

Good morning.

Extraordinarily excited today. My son and girlfriend will be arriving this evening together with her boys and my 7 month old grandson, Teddy. This will be only the second time I’ve met Teddy and I can’t wait to spend time with him if only for a few days.

Well that's it! I'm unemployed!

Yes, a strange feeling walking out for the last time, I got quite emotional!

Much as I hated the place I'm bound to miss it! 20 odd years of my life!

British roads have to have got worse than before if possible. EG. An A road near me that was resurfaced fully 2 years ago is now like the surface of the moon. Craters rather than potholes. Lane 3 of the M5 today had a pothole right in the middle of it. Fine on a car where you can straddle it; not so good on a bike at speed. A bloody disgrace really.

I felt the same when I left Aviva (ten years ago!!!!) redundant after 22years of employment. I mostly missed the people I worked with. Certainly not the work or the situation I was employed in. Bar stewards didn’t give me garden leave, mind - I had to work right up to the last day.

Time to reflect and find your next thing?

All the best. 🙏
