S-Westerly Posted January 4, 2024 Author Posted January 4, 2024 Last time I was in Scotland I definitely had a smile on my face but then I was signing off and on my way home. 1 Quote
Fozzie Posted January 5, 2024 Posted January 5, 2024 Good afternoon Not been on much since the Christmas break, which went well, I worked the days between Christmas and the new year. My girlfriend who has family on the Isle of Wight usually goes there for Christmas, but stayed with me and my family this year. Nearly went without a hitch until a new years party with friends where a chap whose known my gf since primary school made a series of faux pas with people across the night. Didn't really bother me as he just struck me as the geeky socially inept type. Heard him getting the riot act from my gf and her friend. Apparently he boasted he was marrying his partner of 3 years, and asked if it bothered my gf I "refuse" to marry her. Little did he realise, he was standing in earshot of a friend who has been with her boyfriend for 10 years, and she absolutely tore him to shreds Today I was within 200 metres of Rishi Sunak visiting my town. Didn't even realise. The town near me is a bit of a tory hot spot, so I imagine he's doing some damage control before he inevitably loses the election this year. Wish it would be all over and done with. 1 Quote
Simon Davey Posted January 5, 2024 Posted January 5, 2024 Good evening Currently leaning on a hay bale, planning an hour out on the bike Sunday morning. Bikes are far more fun, but not as tasty... Quote

It used to be very exciting where I lived, as kids we were forever making castle's out of it or burning it down, I think the farmer got fairly excited, I know the street residents and the fire brigade did. 1 3 Quote

Fiddlesticks Posted January 8, 2024 Posted January 8, 2024 0.5C and a bit squirrely with mud on the road in places this morning. Take care out there! 3 Quote
Fozzie Posted January 8, 2024 Posted January 8, 2024 Morning Did a very cold, but sunny hike over Dragons back this weekend. Got half way until the more rookie members of the group couldn't make one of the climbs. To be fair, it was slick and steep. One fall and you'd have had time to call your life insurer before you hit the bottom. Got us into a nice warm pub that bit sooner anyway. 3 Quote

Mississippi Bullfrog Posted January 8, 2024 Posted January 8, 2024 I had to turn my gloves up to medium heat this morning. I didn't think it felt that cold. Maybe it's just very damp at the moment. Or the onset of old age! 3 Quote
Steve_M Posted January 8, 2024 Posted January 8, 2024 Good evening. Just checking my life insurance and long term disability insurance policies. I’ve been invited to join in a judo session with a local club and my good lady is encouraging me to go. No problem ten years ago but I’m questioning the wisdom (and ulterior motives) of me going along… 1 2 Quote
