RideWithStyles Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 Lot of white goods are Like cars- designed and made “for the factory assembly” screw everyone else. Products are then very time consuming to dis and re assemble , they are then costly to fix when you have to pay somebody’s time (lot of it) to earn a living to fix it which ratio to product is too high. unfortunately it turns to a particular issue of dump and buy, is it greener? The main or third party supplier and repair part of the industry suffers but the manufacturer wins. 2 Quote

Thinking that was a Scottish term for visiting the toilet, I looked it up. That really does look like an incredible event. I don't think I'd want to turn up on a sports bike though. 1 2 Quote

Unless you have patriotic blue and white colour helmet, leathers, boots, gloves and bike but any body with reds and greens (English/welsh or Irish colours) will be removed from the event ……black is acceptable. jokes aside scenery looks lovely and I’m sure most of the folks are too. I've been up on the Fazer there is no issues, plenty of non hd bikes about to mooch at and loads of bands, music tents etc etc 1 1 Quote
Bender Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 I've just ordered a 230ah lithium battery made with grade A lifePO4 cells with Bluetooth and a heater and I'm going for a lay down in a dark room now and sob....... 1 4 1 Quote
Steve_M Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 Good afternoon. Back from a couple of days DIY’ing for one of the offspring I’m hoping to lose my Filling Station (Keswick) bike meet virginity tonight. It’ll be a quick pop in and out (behave!!!). Is anyone else from here likely to be there? 2 Quote

I actually had to think about that. Sitting here wondering why you'd have such a beast of a battery, with Bluetooth and heating on your bike I'm assuming now that it's for solar? 2 Quote

It's to run the camper kitchen, will have solar charger capability, the heater is inbuilt into the battery to aid low temp charging, you can buy military grade batteries that will charge down to minus silly without a heater but the price is just mental. 1 1 Quote
Bender Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 Just got my renewal through for van insurance, was waiting for it with some trepidation having seen some of the ridiculous increases folk have had. It's come down by a good chunk 20000 miles used every day in rush hour which in reality means driving very slowly, personal and business use, go figure..... I'm not even going to go near a comparison site, I'm just going to let it auto renew and keep fingers crossed 7 Quote
rennie Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 Good morning I spent a couple of hours last week sorting car insurance renewal! I made several changes, job, usage, mileage etc. I eventually got it slightly cheaper than last year but the original quote was eye-watering! The campervan is usually relatively cheap 4 Quote
Popular Post Tiggie Posted August 3, 2024 Popular Post Posted August 3, 2024 Snapped the key to my shed this morning Annoyingly I have a spare but it is the original that came with the lock and is too short as I made the shed door pretty thick so needed a longer key cut for it I could of nipped down to timpsons and got a new one cut but i'm from Yorkshire and have access to a welder 7 4 Quote

I can blow holes in 5mm mild steel..... Hang on, instead of a mig, or stick welder, you must have used a @Tiggie welder, hence the name. Edited August 3, 2024 by Simon Davey 1 4 Quote
Tiggie Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 Do not be impressed by my welding skills as I truly have none I can get the bits of metal to stick together and then I spend 3 times as long with the grinder to make it look halfway acceptable I still have my bosses old watering can hidden in my garage, he asked me if I could reattach the handle, I managed that but put so many holes in it that it wouldnt be able to hold cement let alone water! 1 3 Quote

Looks like a council house shed key from the 60's where every 5th or 6th house had the same key. 3 1 Quote
