Good morning, tis been a bloody long night. Now sitting in a lock in Antwerp waiting for our tugs. At least the sun is coming up but it's a tad chilly.

When the tugs are on, do you also move under your own steam whilst the tugs tow you into position, or is it just the tugs that do all the work?

Huntingdon Racecourse (we have lived within 600 yds of this venue for over 30 years and never been to a race meet!).

I'm going with tugs, otherwise you could end up with a tug being dragged somewhere it might not want to go 😁 although they a powerful little things they are small and have a small footprint and purchase on the water, that tanker whilst slow will be way way more powerful.

 

But I'm just a land lubber who points at things at sea and goes ohhhhh that's big....ohhhhh that's fast..... Why is that sinking 😂

No we also use the engines. The tugs aren't really powerful enough to pull us effectively on their own. What they do is control the ends so we can turn in small spaces or pin the ship and control angles or stop quicker.

I of course will be sensible, give it a good going over and come to a considered decision…..
