Bit frustrating. I have a J&S gift voucher from my birthday. Seen an item i want and J&S will not allow me to purchase using the voucher. Said i have to go in store; which are all closed. Offered to send photo of voucher which is simply a receipt with a code on it but apparently that is not acceptable either. They offered for me to post the gift receipt in the post to head office for them to then process and add the balance to my online account. This means writing a letter, going to the post office and posting it by registered post as it's a 70 quid I wouldn't want it to get lost. Visiting post office to send a voucher to a shop to be able to bag a black Friday bargain is probably not classed as essential so probably, technically, in breech of some covid bylaw

I get that they are keen to get punters in the doors of the stores but i would have thought they would be wanting to adapt their policies in the current climate.

Usually get J&S vouchers for birthday and Christmas but think I'll be requesting Sportsbike Shop from now on as you can use online or in store.

I wouldn't trust RM to find their own behind... :booty:

try www.parcelmonkey.co.uk to find a proper courier that will do what you want.

Or, as my pal @dynax says, why not a we trip to the cold and wet Scotland :P

Complain in on their social media pages like FB or Twitter see if they change their mind. Companies hate having their poor service discussed in public.

Yup often works wonders

I just find it a bit odd and don't understand their reasoning. I like a moan on a forum but try to avoid public whingefests on tw@tter and Fistbook.

I don’t tend to whinge on social media either. My suggestion was to mobilise them to resolve it, not for the sake of a whinge. Failing that call head office direct on the phone?

My guess is their IT systems simply can't accept a gift voucher online. It's even possible their gift vouchers were set up before online shopping became a thing.

I understand your frustrations but is there a way to resolve it without giving away a 70quid online voucher and you keeping the physical voucher that you could well use later?

edited to remove suggestion of waiting til next Wednesday cos I forgot about the Black Friday bargain part of the equation Doh

RM Special Delivery is about as safe as it gets, and certainly as safe as any courier.

Don't get me started on Hermes !!!!!!!!!

The worst of the worst and in such a state of self denial over the state of their company it beggars belief.

Cheers

tried a post on J&S' facebook page. A couple of people commented then J&S deleted it

Make another post, ideally include a screenshot and a question why they've deleted it. Tweet it as well for good measure, once you "parallel post"on more than one social platform or gets difficult to delete

Hi there I am Alex at J&S HQ - I cannot find whats happened on Facebook as its me who moderates our site?!? You can contact me on [email protected] if it was about the website not accepting our gift vouchers we are very much aware of this and working on it behind the scenes! But I am afraid we cannot take vouchers virtually - you can take them in to any store OR, and I realise this is annoying, you can send them to us at J&S HQ and we will then send the items you want out to you. IF there is any extra to pay just put a note in with your name and address and phone number and we can take the difference over the phone. Please be aware we are working away behind the scenes trying to sort both the website AND the voucher system!! I do apologise for this and I will look for your comment on FB too!! I do apologise for that and I can assure you your custom is very important to us - as is your facebook post!! Kind regards, Alex

That’s problematic when stores are shut I would think.

They won't be closed much longer though and they are trying to offer solutions.

We knew that from the original post. The solutions weren’t adequate is what I understand and then the social media posts disappeared (we are told).

Yup and they have turned up to try to correct it, unfortunately alot of things these days are comprises as the world we are living in is a tad screwed up at the mo.

The trouble is what can you do when a company is told to close and is not prepared for this sort of thing like the rest of the world!

Personally I think the best solution would be to allow the discounted prices for black Friday deals for situations like this
