paulc Posted December 26, 2020 Posted December 26, 2020 Hello everyone, I am Paul from Wirral on Merseyside and just bought my first bike after a 30 years away from biking, it is a sensible 2002 650v Deauville(due to be delivered from KH motorcycles in Market Harborough imminently), it is old like me and failed its MOT when they tried to MOT it before Delivery on fork seals so I am waiting patiently whilst they do their stuff. I am a semi retired Engineer and an avid sheddy who likes engines, the steam variety in particular. I am also a caver and like beer my previous bikes were Villiers cotton 197 suzuki gp100u Yamaha RD250LC Honda 250n superdream with the rickman full touring fairing. Hello 1 Quote

Thank you Onesea, I often wonder about the cold and wet too and the tight crawls make me feel fat and old these days :D, its never to late to get back under ground you know lol. Quote
James in Brum Posted December 28, 2020 Posted December 28, 2020 I’m desperate to get back to climbing regularly, I adore climbing. Caving I get it with the big spaces underground but the thought of squeezes and sumps reminds me that geological time is likely to speed up dramatically when I am near meaning that the I would become trapped. Hi James I understand that, my biggest fear is cramping up these days in a crawl but most of the ropework that I do is SRT single rope technique and I am not to good at it really especially prussiking and rebelays because Im a bit of a weed. On the plus side my Deauville was delivered today, she is called "Dolly" and I put 70 miles on her and no problems 3 Quote
James in Brum Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 Fab! I thought about a deuville when I bought my zzr. I hope you enjoy it plenty of space for kit for trips too! 1 Quote

Hello there is a quite tidy ntv 600 in blue on fleabay at the moment Quote
onesea Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 Thanks for the thought of going underground, a decade or so since i last attempted that. Although some tank diving brought back the memories a few years back. I never had an issue with SRT then I was a sailer so understood ropes. Your in a Nice corner of the country for biking great roads in all direction. plus you have the best egg run. Although the year I went we road home with snow laying all around. Quote
