Pbassred Posted April 15, 2021 Posted April 15, 2021 My wife's bike suffers from this. Is there a standard fix that works for most bikes? Quote

Mines does this periodically but mainly when I've been riding like a cock. To be honest I live with it and have learnt to be more mechanically sympathetic with the gear changes. Quote
husoi Posted April 15, 2021 Posted April 15, 2021 a few presses on the clutch should solve the problem. Although I have no idea what you're talking about... Quote
S-Westerly Posted April 15, 2021 Posted April 15, 2021 My Ducati does it occasionally but not for more than a couple of goes. I think in my case its more to do with a clunky foot rather than anything the bike has done. Quote
Stu Posted April 15, 2021 Posted April 15, 2021 Sounds like a dragging clutch Blip the throttle as you go for neutral to see if it makes a difference Also try putting it in to neutral while its still rolling If both these work then more than likely the clutch plates are slightly warped and dragging a little or the clutch mechanism needs adjusting I had all this on my old TL and it was the plates Quote
Pbassred Posted April 15, 2021 Author Posted April 15, 2021 Its actual a Chinese K-lite. Only 1000 miles on it, so its possible that the clutch hasn't worn in yet. Quote
James in Brum Posted April 15, 2021 Posted April 15, 2021 I had a Lexmoto that lost the ability to regularly find neutral from a few thousand miles old. Not at all a temporary thing like described by the others. Quote
geofferz Posted April 15, 2021 Posted April 15, 2021 False neutral? Doesn't everyone get this sometimes? My suzuki does. Quote
Ian Frog Posted April 15, 2021 Posted April 15, 2021 For what it`s worth check the chain tension is not over tight before you start calling for life support surgery on the little thing. Cheers Ian Quote
bonio Posted April 17, 2021 Posted April 17, 2021 Some bike are a bit anti-neutral, and take some coaxing. Sometime helps to engage the clutch in 1st or 2nd and try again. With only 1000 miles it's hardly run in, mind. I wouldn't be surprised if it improves over the next year. Quote
