Asking for a friend how does he convince his misses to accept the idea of him owning a bike

Assuming he's an adult and earning his own money its not really any business of hers if he wants a bike or not. If its a choice between food on the table and a bike he may have a problem but assuming that's not the case then there's no issue really. Although you may want to tell your friend that however much he thinks it will cost he'll be wrong -it'll be way more.

That's a difficult one to answer, why does she not want him to get one ? If it will be a financial burden on the house hold or he is a reckless car driver or risk taker then you can understand why she wouldn't want him on a bike. But if he has training, wears proper gear, has decent life insurance and can afford it then ge doesn't need to convince her he just needs to explain that he has taken the previous steps and is going ahead with it.

Or just go ahead anyway - As the saying goes it's easier to ask forgiveness than permission !

Where I did my DAS they have a storage unit full of bike that peoples other halves don't know about. They rent the space and people pop down for a cheeky ride without their other half ever knowing.

Nope, short attention span.

Got her full bike licence, picked up bike from her sons along way away, rode it almost home did something daft but no one knows what, went down on the bike in a straight line on a1 and took out her son too, both were relatively OK and that was the end of biking.

Maybe best she gave up flying.
