No it will things have been worse before and got better. It's the way of the world. I remember my dad telling me of interest rates in the 70's. Imagine how people in Sri Lanka, Ukraine etc are getting on. Think positive or give up as there's no point!

First casualty of post modernism....the myth that things always get better. They won't unless we make them, and our current political and social trend is towards leaving it to someone else. Then wondering why the world is less good than it used to be.

Despite the problems of the 70's back then we still believed we would fix all the problems. We had faith that our technology and cleverness would build a better world. Unfortunately that very optimism proved to be part of the problem.

I think this is somewhat unfair. The current political trend certainly seems very selfish but there are plenty of socially and responsibly engaged young people trying to make a difference. Unfortunately many get misrepresented by a right wing media hell bent on maintaining the political status quo.

No i agree there too many spectators unfortunately people would rather watch and comment than act. Good example was helping to stop and elderly gent who fell off his mobility scooter in the middle of the road. A builder stopped to help but was on his own. We waited for the Ambo so he could get to work, convinced the nearby car garage to look after young Colins chariot and went and let the home know he was off to hospital. Most people walked and drove past without even looking others were really helpful. Sadly most have no responsibility to others or themselves. I think that's why we arw f****d most have no responsibility a few have a lot sad really.

On a positive note I'd like to find out What Ryan thinks of all this inflation and the demise of Jorris Bonson!

Do you pay for the electric you use at work for charging your car. 🤔

That's the beauty of it. Free electricity and I get the tax return from my car allowance because I use my EV for work :)

Keep in mind some companies may charge for the electricity at cost.

Some nearby were over the 1.90 mark hence the emergency stop I don't think I would have braked that hard if a small child would have walked out in front of me!

While I'm reluctant to get into a political debate on a motorcycle forum that deserves better...

Progress in human affairs is no myth. It was very real in the post-war period ... witness the New Deal in the US and the enviable NHS in Britain.

It's dismantling began with Reagan and Thatcher, continuing with Clinton and Blair.

Things getting better is only a myth if we let it, and continue to vote like morons for austerity monkeys and flag shaggers.

I'm with you there but most politicians on both sides seem to be pathetic wetters who are only put for themselves. Nobody really appeals at the moment, I think the genuine ones get snuffed out within their parties they don't want do gooders only the public want that and sadly I don't think we will get our way.

I'm with you there with one exception. There is a MP who has been quietly working their way through the ranks and whilst currently not a candidate for leadership might be next time round. I was at college with them and they abandoned their original profession to enter Parliament. That wasn't an easy decision but it was the path they felt could do the most good.

They are perhaps not overly ambitious but they are honest and genuine. It's interesting to see them occasionally on the news and recognise the same person from back then when their ideals changed the direction of their life.

I'm not saying who or which party, but if there is one then hopefully there made be a few more across other parties.

I hope he does well. Our neighbouring town had Ian Austin as a Labour MP he had been there for some years and fell out with the party over the anti sematism issues. It was a shame as he was one of the good guys in terms of not voting the party line and voting for his constituents. I'll always vote for the best option for me but it's a bit hard atm there does not seem much option.

Just filled up. The sign outside said £185.9, the pump price was £195.9.

The supervisor just said the sign was wrong. I'll be on to trading standards on Monday.

You were robbed. I paid 1.84 for petrol in Heathrow area. Our local cheapest is 1.82 at Tesco. Even the Shell and BP garages are only 1.84.

Dropped to £1.75 at my local yesterday, a tankful for me has gone from £30 to £25 in a month.
