its actually colder on a bike as you get the wind chill at 0°c the wind chill at 30 can make it feel like -24°c

seen as though its a 2008 model i would go straight back tou your delear and get it done under warrantte no point poking at it if you can get it done for free as if you mess it up they will charge you to put it right

sadly AndyW not possible on mine!!!! it just lifts the full bike up people have been having the problem for years well since 1997 actually i WILL make something to work

yup i made one the only problem with my bike now i have no way of lifting the front so i can remove the forks and yolkes i will make something over winter to do that

it "might" be the overflow on the carb which "could" mean the float hight needs setting i dont really know much about the bike to be honest

can you not get the insurance to sort that aswell ? or would it have to be under the bikes insurance anyway i would get a whole new lock set ( ebay )

it could have been removed before i dont know it had about 5 owners before me chain was well and truly f**k*d aswell but when i found the link and just pulled the side plate off without force i just choose to do it right everytime better safe then sorry

as tim says try warming it up use a blow torch if you can to get direct heat on to the stud

sorry i dont agree with this you may have had 200+bhp going through it and yeah it worked for you but it doesnt work for everyone my zxr400 had a split pin on the chain then when i did my chain and sprocs i was looking for it to remove the chain and it had already gone walkies!!! and the side plate was just holding on personally i would use the right tools and the proper link

i would drop an email of complaint to them about it and a copy to honda too you never know you might get some free vouchers or something there is something wrong somewhere and will come back again it will be a bad connection
