1. Might be worth buying new can chain tensioner spring, as the originals tend to shrink over time. Certainly measure it before replacing...
2. Seeing daughter for first time in 3 weeks...
3. Cannot speek for all but who said anything about being good riders... Failed our CBT first time but managed to get a full licence in the end... Relax enjoy on the 8th...
4. I have my share of post thinking this will wind some one up, then the day I am not trying.... I am not even researching for a dissertation, I was just wondering if others felt the same....
5. What do you use for your navigation? Phone mounted on handlebars. How often do you use this? Depends on my intended journey 50% of time. Do you believe this is an issue or could be improved? What is an issue? If your talking navigation There will always be improvements, much is opinion, some say use a map. Have you ever had any accidents or close calls due to this or any other distractions? Could you explain what and why? Plenty of distractions on the roads, I Sail so boats are distraction I have dogs so dogs are a distraction, I eat so food shops are a distraction. Even reading a private number plate or bumper sticker is a distraction. I have had 2 offs, neither where as such my "fault"or involved Navigation. However I did not see or think of the hazard coming so I must of been distracted or not riding to see the hazard. There are always close call we avoid because we see the signs and warnings...
6. Depends which article you read, the whole thing is about generalisations.
7. Which can be done on the road, whilst enjoying a ride. Its not uncommon and often why cyclists ride horse riders and people walk 2 abreast so they can enjoy the company and an activity. Your mileage may differ, some enjoy music chat when they are riding others don't. This post was meant for those that would like, have use and know the limitations of intercom units.
8. Starting to thin you are going around trolling your own Forum, I have noted your multiple attempts to get Six30 to flounce, now your trying to Troll random threads. I will give you points for trying to get the TOTY award in your own forum. Your really exposing self weakness "Y" if your going to play the generation game get it right. I think you will find its a couple of Boomers showing they're age and intolerance, boomers group up not talking in the cold war why change? they won the cold war by not talking. Its the X generation that have embrace change, have had the wild times and are prepared to try new things, Xcepting embracing new technology.. Stu What are you generation "Y?" why Y? because it follows X you have no name, purpose or meaning the Millennials that follow at least have a name and type the "Y"s now there is the generation of Y are you here.... Over shadowed by the generations before and the Millennials after... The Millennials who don't leave the parents home are scared to commit and starting families, have grown up with tech developing say they can remember life before mobile phones but would not have a clue how to live without one, the Digital Natives. I doubt that there are many generation "Z"'s on here why because they will be laughing at us using a forum and headsets to communicate on a ride. I mean FFS how can they take selfies on a bike and using a forum you don't get 1000's of followers and try making your millions by talking to friends you get that by taking selfies of you by your bike not even riding it. Your posts are not going to reach 1000's. Any way why ride your bike to a place you can get a better back ground for your bike using photoshop, without the need to detail it after.
9. historically I would of agreed however, I just picked up a pair of Avon storm XM’s for the price of a rear PR4 So far i am impressed wet and dry, 1 and 2 up. Not had really spirited ride yet and have only done about 500 miles.
10. exactly where its always been... before you snowflakes panic about the prospect no electronic communications for 5 seconds or more .. There in the background a noise from a caveman, do you still recommend stone tyres? I don't know any that call coms essential or won't ride without. However it does make a more pleasant day, less time talking over coffee, the ability to make group decisions about stops, warn of the speed camera van, listen to music. Change routes and destinations at a whim, Frequent topics of conversation Next coffee, last coffee, the views and local peoples we pass, road hazards, ass hole drivers etc
11. Where do you see the future of bike coms... IMHO both the big brands have issues Senna and Cardo are over priced and underperform. Personally I have Pack Talk.. Love dual Audio Streaming and clear talk to Pillion and other riders IF we can be bothered fighting to connect. I don't even bother trying now if its Senna- Cardo I know it can be done but its more agro than its worth IMHO I would of said once a Radio based coms system with increased range to the helmet sets, bike mounted and Bluetooth to your choice of helmet device... All complex and requiring mounting to the bike and probably on available Push to talk. To be honest now think an affordable Phone App... Using data to make a "talk group". Yes your restricted by mobile signal and it will use data, by modern standards most will have enough data, watching video uses more than a data call.. The App should (I believe this is possible): > Be non network specific, > Allow users to use any Bluetooth or wired headset, > Deal with loss of data/ signal so you automatically re-join group once your phone requires signal, > Have the ability to play music simultaneously, > Allow priority to your Pillion and that to be by Bluetooth/ Wi-Fi so non phone signal dependant, +> Have the option to ping when people loose signal and require group, +> Have the option of showing the same Nav-Route to all Phones, +> Have the option of plotting each rider on a map so you can see how separated you all are, +> Have the option so the Nav Auto reroutes to rendezvous riders with the pack if they become split, +> Have speed camera alerts, In the Day dream world: +] Use Wifi and or Bluetooth to maintain coms and have the DMS/Bridging function to link riders if no phone signal and in Wifi/ Bluetooth range. +] Decent connections with Senna and Cardo so they can join in seamlessly Most of this ii achievable, even forgetting the ideas marked with a + the app IMPHO would be worthy..
12. Being a simple sole, can you follow some wires visually, check connections each end for feeling soft or floppy... My knowledge of electronics is limited but wiring normally stops working due to sensors, poor connections, failure being, disturbed, water ingress or brake down mechanical or heat. Much is often visible, sometimes "fixed" by WD40 or other water dispersant - this is often not long term but you soon learn where to squirt and where the fault is... Spraying and slamming the side stand up with some force could remove crud that in testing did not allow the sensor to operate. It might be worth spraying the ignition and switch gear as well as well.
13. No.....it's not necessary as such! But I do think it would strengthen your claim to retaining the title! Actively seeking flounces, that's not condoned or in the rules, what rules I hear you say, ohhh the ones we will invent should the need arise Now if someone managed to get Six30 to flounce would they get TOTY or MOTY? Or is it a case of venturing into Schrödinger's cat territory as the server failed we would never know...
14. You could also point out that by doing this thy have devalued their houses as now the "neighbours" have stated this they have to report it to any future buyers... Of course you don't have to if its your dog that will be leaving the area... With a rescue pup that is prone to barking at noises, I routinely apologise to neighbours before they say anything... Normally they tell us not to worry its improving. Luckily there is small really noisy dog in the area that takes the pressure of us. I certainly would consider police, particularly after a friend and her neighbour lost (they don't live near and our dogs not going near there) there dogs both suffered with organ failure, apparently a common symptom of poisoning. 111 call to put it on the books.
15. Or do it the other way, do your CBT, it took me 2 attempts but I learned a fair bit. Then buy a bike and head of into rush hour traffic through your local city, to get it home. After that ride I was much less nervous. .
16. Interesting video on the subject.. by FortNine
17. No worries about you sharing it, I’m not on Facebook so unfortunately can’t partake of their wisdom, If I get stuck would you be ok to pass on a few Q’s ? I think we have done this before.. no problems..
18. As a fellow trophy owner following with interest. You know there is a FB trophy group full of wisdom... Do you mind if I share this post there?

I'm stumped

I find an easy way to do this is spray some water on the down pipes, if one cylinder is not firing as well as other the water doesn't evaporate as quick..
20. I guess you don't work shifts then....
21. My Triumph Trophy has a pair of H4 bulbs 6" apart which is the same as cars of the era. Which works well without the spread of a 6' wide car. My TDM900 has 2 x H7 bulbs 1/2 the equivalent of a car of that age, which work 1/2 as well..
22. Bike has not been used regularly for a whilst, so usual sticky fuel, gummy carbs maybe drop off condensation in tank. Probably better to do full clean but history tells me it takes forever to get here running right after...
23. At least they admitted it was them, the amount round here that just drive off...
