1. Anyone recognize the vehicle this comes from...
2. Has anyone made one of those useless scoring systems where you have a level of obnoxiousness against trolling to obtain a figure for cuntisness that then goes through a second chart for cuntisness Vs arrogance and unhelpfullness to obtain the for for twarisnness? Obviously these things have to be measured and calculated they cannot be a personnel judgment and feeling Otherwise it might become personnel then Six30 would win to easily..
3. Jerry1111 I have historically done the same, with manual spray wiping it out with clean cloth. It works and you probably over apply. This time I had one of these: https://www.screwfix.com/p/energer-enb558srg-100w-electric-solenoid-spray-gun-220-240v/11919?kpid=11919&ds_kid=92700052136101731&ds_rl=1243321&ds_rl=1241687&ds_rl=1245250&ds_rl=1245250&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI65HMzo7G7AIVAeR3Ch24IAAlEAQYBCABEgLZ4PD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds From painting the fence. It misted ok next time I was thinking to adding a thinner. Considering white spirit? Another suggestion was to warm the ACF50 as it mists better. Would I buy this type of spray gun to spray my bikes? Not unless I had other uses for it...
4. Its the old riddle.. Fuel - Water/ Dirt in tank/ filter/ fuel hose / fuel pump - I always start with fuel additives and a hot run. Air - Often loss of power over time but could be airflow momentarily stopped. Spark - Electrical always nightmare. Sounds like across all cylinders so unlikely to be plugs or leads (but could be losing power on 2 cylinders ?Coil again normally brake down over time so problem might get worse), timing pickups, throttle control? Did it happen after changing gear both occasions? Did the power come back when you eased the throttle? or did it leap to full throttle with it wide open? Any fault lights, even momentarily?
5. I think this will be me for a moment of naivety... Talking at work with a friend they recommended a TV program. About a TV program about a Porn star mum on the BBC, they could not think of the name. So I googled it: "Porn Star mum BBC" Not wise key words on works Wifi when they are sensitive about how its used... Turns out it was not a wind up, its on Channel 4 and called "Adult Materials". https://www.channel4.com/programmes/adult-material
6. So here I am multi bike policy due, sadly this always involves a few phone call... 2 Cheapest where My current insurer Motorcycle Direct and Hastings Direct... After 4 minutes of listening to recordings, I got told I am sorry we are to busy to deal with new customers and got a Beep as the phone went down. Not certain I would want to insure with them in future... Although points for honesty I guess.. PS Any suggestions for cheap multi-bike insurance...
7. As above but before you take things apart... Check for split hoses leading connections, fuel can travel a long way before it finds a place to drip. If bike runs you could try starting bike, running it till warm with Reddex or your favourite fuel additive might help.... Turning fuel off letting it run to stop, repeat a couple of times. If float valve is lazy or dirty in valve it might be enough to get it moving. Can you access the drain screw on the bowl of each carb? Unscrew gently to check for for of clean fuel from each Carb. Assuming fuel has of valve, turn fuel of drain each bowl. Close each screw and do same again. You could try fully removing agreed the drain screws and spraying carb cleaner up the screw hole. However getting screws in can be hard... Depending on access. Then look at taking things apart.
8. My bikes have just been liberally coated in ACF50. Had not thought of marine protection, although ACF50 I think is cheaper. Interestingly this time for application I used an airless spray to get it into the corners. Seemed to work well. Oh and if you get it on your brakes it will burn off... Don't ask how I know.
9. Living in the New forest hot summers weekend or holidays and you don't get the phone signal you normally get. That's on any network. Tesco was bad for it, my partner on EE I am on Thee and it's a marked change. I can only imagine Smarty would be worse... So for sake of 12 month contract I took Three. There is allot of clever software behind phone signal strength and its allocation. Every noticed your phone frequently cuts out at 3, 6 or 9 minutes? In the days of removable batteries if you took the battery out and restarted your phone you could often get 3 or 6 minutes conversation before it kicked you off for taking to much power. All to do with "handshakes".
10. 1) Without seeing the junction, wait until first car is actually turning then pull out whilst is turning in. It will probably slow traffic enough even if the others are going straight on. 2) Depends again are there cyclists or other motorbikes around? Have you positively acknowledge seen ever vehicle stop around you? Certainly mirror checks if any concerns then yes life savers 3) Roll off with touch of brakelight to show vehicle behind your slowing. Slowing demonstrates you know your mistake, breaking is so vehicle behind is aware. If large change of speed.

Adhoc meets

I was thinking of posts like this: https://www.themotorbikeforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=73750 Which is genuine post that I probably would not of made as looking at forecast as it really isnt great.. I have local FB group I/ some others do this on, hence the possibly partner in crime, there is often someone out.
12. I am hoping to get out Thursday / Friday from New forest (Hampshire), 0900 to 1600 for gentle run. Weather permitting I don't mind a bit damp but if its going to be lashing it down I'll go another day. Forecast isn't great Anyone fancy catching up for Coffee? Probably just me, then I might find partner in crime. I don't mind which direction I ride as long as I can be home in time.
13. You will miss them when there gone, although if she's anything like mine she still rings in my ears... Oh and working this weekend...
14. I have multi bike cover for 2 bikes I cannot think of a comparison tool that can deal with this... Oh and both have business insurance for work as I work out of multiple work places and occasionally travel on them in work time. I choose 2 maybe 3 and have to phone them up to get a price... Or go through each online page.

Adhoc meets

3 times now I have thought about posting an adhoc meet, Tomorrow is a typical I know I am out on bike tomorrow. I just don't know when, I have some jobs to do first :/ This post is not forgotten..
16. To be honest I am not "Suicide is the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the country." many on this forum will be the highest risk: Middle aged male, Austerity measures Divorced, Access issues, Job Loss, Midlife Carrier Change, Loneliness & Isolation, https://www.samaritans.org/about-samaritans/research-policy/suicide-facts-and-figures/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suicide_in_the_United_Kingdom#:~:text=Researchers%20and%20sociologists%20have%20identified,it%20is%20for%20other%20groups. When people tell me motorcycling is dangerous, I remind them that I am probably safer on my bike than left on my own... The other area that is alarming is the high rate of self harm by young females, mainly as a method of dealing with emotions. https://www.nhs.uk/news/mental-health/number-girls-and-young-women-reporting-self-harm-england-rise/
17. I did that, it was timed it so I had 24 hours to get out of the house with all my worldly processions a full car and a full allowance of 40 kg hold luggage (mostly clothes), when I went away to work 24 hours later. Not really knowing where I was going to live on my return in a couple of months. I got left the car (with every thing of mine I could fit in it) and a boat (both valued less than 1k) she tried to take those even though she does not drive and cannot sail. The reasoning was her parents would need them to help her bring up my daughter, since I "was not going live locally or be involved in my daughters life." As I whole am better off now if some what poorer although career changed (primarily brought on by divorce) means household income now 1/3 of what it had been and lower than I have had for 20 years. Against the odds after over a decade my daughter from being a baby in nappies to just turning into a teen has continued to want see her dad, that I am proud off. She's just gone to school and I have a dog telling me I need to take him for a walk... Life could be a lot worse.... Trooper74 and others I read your tales after typing this I nearly deleted it all made me feel humbled in my grumblings... Good on you all and very brave of you taking on some of the challenges in the world. Your comments makes me humbled and realise I have not got allot going on... I should just stuck to my original thoughts in this thread not the.... If I could stop a decade of problems with an X wife mine would be much better...
18. I'm fine not under stress but not depressed, the Dr told me a couple of weeks back. If anyone knows how to stop a decade of fighting (good news is I should be passed the 1/2 way point) with an X wife mine will be much better... Usual things access (yes there is a court order) maintenance (yes the CMS (new CSA) are involved) she still does not stop... As for the effect of Covid for me work has gone on we just wear masks and silly suits from time to time. Access stopped for 2 months (I know that should not happened) and maintenance still got paid the arguments did not stop either...
19. I replaced my re-chromed front forks today, having previously stripped them and replaced the seals following them being checked by a local triumph dealer. I have 2 torque wrenches one max's at 15 Nm and the other starts at 25Nm, I needed 20Nm. I also know having stripped them twice the feel of undoing them was different, Triumphs rebuild where much tighter. So I phoned my friend with all the tools and told him it was time for a best guess, predictably he turned up (he hates my crude hap hazard methods) with a suitable torque wrench late in the rebuild, so I had already guessed again. 3 out of 8 hex bolts needed 1/8 of a turn the rest seemed spot on. An engineer once told me tools are the length they are because you should not need any more force to do them up .
20. Years ago I worked for a company that got taken over by its big local rival, I was the only one that got taken on. When the big companies purchasers came back proud of the new negotiated prices they had gone up - it had taken a long time to foster good relations. Funny when I got made redundant 6 months later, 0900 Monday morning here's your redundancy and 1 months wages - good by. The week before I had mentioned to a couple of suppliers I might pop in on Monday. Having not seen me for 6 months, they asked how I new I would be in (they had not seen me for 6 months), my answer the cleaner told me a week earlier I got offered 3 jobs that day and the odd phone call from there customers for weeks after. Even though I explained I had already been accepted for a new job in totally different industry (I stuck in that one for 20 years). Now on career no 3 or 4 far from rich but would not change a thing...
21. I am not the one who should be posting on here... Drinking a beer having just had my some what late birthday roast.. My partner was vegetarian before I met her, my recent work college (we work in pairs) was vegetarian, he wasn't at the end. Both decided by there own choice, my partner tried a steak with me medium well done, I came home after a trip away with work and wanted her steak rare... My work college announced when passing a shop he was stopping for sausage rolls as they where good and cheap, I had refrained form asking SO many times as he was vegetarian (also stopped me eating rubbish).. I don't care accept when people come round to eat, particularly when announced at the last minute and stern vegetarians/ vegans that start grumbling when you eat meat... The worst are those like my partners step mum she chooses when she is not eating meat, you go to special effort to make sure its mainly vegetarian and no cross contamination in preparation/ cooking (roast potatoes in oil not fat etc). Then she starts chomping into the small ham that was bought with young fussy eaters in mind In todays world with lack of exercise and so much cheap nice but basically crap food around meat eater or not you have to watch your diet or become unhealthy. Alcohol is another story we both drink and what can be to much and I agree XTreme I don't know what's changed (I have the same thoughts as you) but alcohol has a different effect. We have introduced a no alcohol on school nights thing which does work when we abide by it. Then I wonder how many pubs would survive if they became coffee shops more than pubs. rob m If you want/ plan to continue doing 10,000 steps a day get a medium to high energy dog. Enough 1/2 drunk over fed mumblings It will get enough exercise and you cannot brake the routine or you get barked at when you stop to relax, cushions chewed up, your neatly stacked logs all over the garden and the wrapper for your re-chromed forks shredded and that was just today, after 7000 steps this morning. So when you come home or finish the job your doing you do go for a walk.
22. Well guys to clarify actually I find 3 Signal not bad here I have tried others. EE is better but long story since the change form Orange they have IMHO gone down hill. THREE Have been good its just seeing the difference between the 2 deals I thought why not. - Anyway short phone call to Three I was thinking to get a release code. I mentioned the deal, they could match if I took a 12 month contract. They also told me something that I have long suspected is true, when networks get busy they priorities 3 customers against the cheaper networks using on their network. Living in tourist area where we normally get influxes of masses of people that was not desirable. I also suspect they do the same with high tariffs/ business customers v cheap tariffs... Long and short I have stayed put for the next 12 months..
23. Has anyone tried the Smarty Network? https://smarty.co.uk Its 4G Based on Three (Who I am with) Phone is 4G only & 5G Where I live and work is not likely to appear any time soon... Smarty £10.00 Capped per month = Unlimited - UK calls & texts + 30GB 4G & 3G data Monthly contract. Three £18.00 a month.* = Unlimited minutes & texts - 30GB Data 12 month plan Seems lie a no brainer to me, same network 1/2 the price no long term contract.
24. If I had not just got my forks re-chromed that would be an ideal bag for my daily commute... How long does it take to attach?
25. Have you tried TomTom my drive? I like it then it syncs automatically to my phone. The my drive phone app is nothing compared with website though
