  1. Got up and headed to Coleshill Bikers World for a Breakfast Batch . Then I found myself in Stratford upon Avon followed by Banbury and then I noticed that I was in Shipston on Stour . Half way to Oxford I veered off towards Stow on the Wold and ended up in Pershore . A quick sprint along the A 46 and here I am in Coventry again . Would it have anything to do with this ?
  2. Best cleaner bar none is Petrol .
  3. I think I'll nominate myself and not for the first time . I thought I'd squirt a little WD40 into the throttle housing of my new Harley just to see if it freed up the throttle action a bit , which it did . So off for a lovely ride in the countryside and I spot a bloke pushing a 125 . I indicated left and stopped to help but he just ignored me so I indicated right to carry on my way . Ah , my hazard flashers are on , don't remember doing that . Click both buttons* and nothing happens , shit . So I had to ride home again like a bloody press bike in the Tour de France causing all kinds of confusion among the car people . Unfortunately I also rang Mr Frog who was having his dinner , sorry Ian , to find out where the fuses live . Anyway , although the WD40 might have been the cause , I don't know what the cure is yet because once I had the side panel off the thing stopped flashing . Oh well at least I know where the bike's brain lives . It's like a medium tablet in its own little tray , very tidy . * Don't ask .
  4. All worth it by the sound of it .
  5. Don't forget to change your profile now . I've already done mine .
  6. On the other hand , my GSXR 1100 has presumably not been ridden since I sold it four years ago . A DVLA check shows it untaxed and with no MOT . It's a mystery to me what happened to it . The guy rode it away alright . He was only a little bloke and the back end was raised a bit because I put a GSXR 1000 shock on it . Maybe he thinks it's an investment . Who can spot Bob ?
  7. Sneaky f*****s !
  8. The world is full of ex bikers . There's no shame in it . It's only a relatively small band of nutters like me who make some kind of life long obsession of it .
  9. No
  10. Change your bike for something completely different ( And bigger ) You've done the wizzy race rep thing so try a Harley or an Adventure Bike or better still , buy a scrapper and build a custom bike . This life choice has many facets and like anything else you don't want to get stuck in a rut . There's very little you can get out of a CBR6 that you haven't got out of it already .
  11. But if you bend the long one you will effectively shorten it .
  12. Quickly detachable , along with the excellent semi hard luggage system and the screen . I just wanted to ride it home in " Lean " configuration .
  13. As some of you will be aware , I have sold my Sportster . But what have I bought next you may be wondering ? Well , it is with great pleasure that I can now reveal that I have purchased a Harley Davidson FXDC Dyna Super Glide , all 1,585 cc's of it . Not only that , I bought it from fellow forum member Ian Frog . The story begins a couple of years ago when we had a meet up to compare Harleys and Ian let me have a go on it . Since then I have dropped the odd subtle hint about buying it and two weeks ago Ian offered me the bike at a very acceptable price . So I sold the Sportster in record time ( For me ) and rode this magnificent beast home yesterday amid the nerve-wracking clamour of the motorway rush hour . I went for a proper ride later on and I absolutely love it ! Thanks Ian .
  14. That's the size of my flat !
  15. So now you need to put a gentle S bend in it .
  16. Any Crocodiles in the Thames ?
  17. These things aren't expensive so I suggest you buy another one first in case you knacker it up . Then I'd stick the lever in a vise and bend and bash it into the shape you want it . Simple ..https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/133765222186?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=DXpb8RH5Rz2&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=9xhDzDPcSSK&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=MORE
  18. I know it's work to you but to me it sounds fascinating . How about a few pictures ? Say , for example a sunset or a view of the vessel ?
  19. It's obviously part of a racing sidecar outfit . All this would be under a body shell .
  20. Oh yeah , they're from Rugby . Nice people to deal with . Makes a refreshing change . I thought I was in for a right marathon with this sale but apart from the usual dickheads I could have sold this bike three times already .
  21. Ha ! Never count your chickens . Guy messaged to say he'd rather send a courier to collect , I said I wasn't too happy about that , he instantly demands his deposit back ! I made him wait all day while I conferred with some very wise acquaintances to talk through any possible of a scam . Refunded him through PayPal in the end . Contacted a potential buyer that I'd told the bike was sold , they came straight round , sat on it , started it , payed a £200 deposit ! What a bloody rollercoaster of a day .
  22. On my first GSXR 1100 It was definitely the bike doing the steering . I was just a passenger on that evil thing .
  23. Colin Colin Colin .. none of us are getting any younger mate . You really can't afford to waste good riding time pondering stuff to this degree . Give it a rest old chap . Motorcycles were just a brief glimmer of beauty in the headlong march to oblivion . Just tell us what biscuits you like ..
  24. That's it by the look of it , you've had your chips for being too slow . Deposit accepted .
