  1. No I'm not sure! I do need to check the chain though, should start with that, thanks
  2. Hello again! I've noticed today a very distinct whine on acceleration - it increases as you open the throttle, then dies off when you close it. Any guesses as to what part of the bike is/soon will be knackered?
  3. Haven't washed mine yet either, but it's getting somewhat mucky already. Slightly bemused how the top of the hugger is so dirty in particular! Just seen the pics, nice bike So it's not bright white anymore I guess?
  4. I agree with you 100% . I always wish I had invested in property when I was younger. I had a Sgt who had a load of property and every Friday he would go out collecting his rent. It was so funny seeing him park up the patrol car which might be an XJ6 Jag, SD1 Rover or 2.8 Granada, change his anorack for a brown rain coat and then go knocking on doors with the rent books I saw him at a funeral a few weeks ago and he lives in a palace and looks too healthy for hos own good obviously caused by living the good life on the proceeds of the properties he brought and then probably sold for a very handsome profit. Am I jealous? Not at all but I do refer to him as Ex Sgt B@stard when we meet up (Just joking I hasten to add) On a more serious note, I totally agree with your comments regarding student and landlords. My daughter is in such accomodation at a University on the south coast and the landlord is just one greedy ignorant b@stard fuelled by the equally b@stard agents. I know that there are certain rules governing rented accomodation, but it seems that these greedy twats can charge a fortune for sub standard accomodation and then withhold the deposit for months after they move out whilst trying to fabricate false evidence of damage and so on. Don't get me started on them, but I am with you all the way The problem goes back to what has already been discussed I suppose, I.e. a huge housing shortage. So those who do own property hold all the cards - no matter how sub-standard their properties are someone can be found to rent because they're desperate and need somewhere to live! Although Joeman your approach makes more sense in the long run, keep tenants happy and they'll stay longer and look after your property too
  5. Haven't washed mine yet, but then it has rained a lot recently
  6. Has anyone tried one of these trackers? http://www.trackersecurity.co.uk/phone/index.html Battery that lasts several years and they can track Via GPS and RF signals.
  7. Banks have helped create today's society. It is seen as a good thing, essential in fact, that we have an ever-expanding economy, which needs ever increasing consumption.. So of course people are encouraged to spend regardless of whether they actually have the money - don't worry just take out a loan.. The 'need' is to carry on with the current economic model
  8. So long as no one has a Panigale. I managed a tank and a half on a ride where one of those needed 3 tanks. And its wing mirror started falling off. My uncle has a 1299 Panigale, had it 18 months and still hasn't run it in! Such a waste This sounds like fun, I'll come if I've got a 'big' bike by then
  9. Thanks all for your help I took it in to a local motorbike shop, as in addition to the battery issue it has developed an oil leak and a problem with the back brake. They have fixed the back brake and replaced the battery but need a part for the oil leak (something to do with crankshaft I think) so won't have it back til Tuesday. I have been looking at optimate chargers, but I'm not sure which would be suitable for a ybr 125, does this seem suitable? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131884690002
  10. Cheers Chris, I did wonder about that because I have a short commute (11 miles) and it's often heavy traffic so I'm not getting up to speed much either.
  11. Thanks for the reply, unfortunately no voltmeter. If I try and start it the neutral light goes dim, also it doesn't seem to be able to operate indicators and brake light together.. Tried horn makes a very quiet noise.
  12. Yes he did say that, subject to glare from the rear lights, other traffic headlights etc., probably fine with good lifesavers I guess.
  13. Interesting, don't think I'd like not having real mirrors! I think the second cbr he shows with the custom dash is better, that way you can have real mirrors as well.
  14. Hey knowledgeable TMBF folk Came out of work today and tried to start my bike, got some buzzing noise but the engine didn't turn over. Started via kick-start (so happy it has this!) Once home I switched off and tried to start on the button.. Still nothing. So am I right in thinking this is the battery? And in terms of replacing the battery, does the new one have to exactly match the old one's specs? I.e. the manual says it has a 12V, 6ah, 85 CCA battery, Could I replace with a 12V, 7ah, 110 CCA battery? Thanks in advance
  15. Many thanks, I'll try halfords first then, despite the cost. No idea what I'm looking at with the ones on eBay etc!
  16. I joined because it's a friendly place with a real community feel, everyone loves motorbikes and aren't interested in judging your preference or ability; whether you have a 125, superbike or an enduro, or everything! Edit: And those are things I don't think you'll find on other forums, in my experience
  17. Nice! Don't forget to get some pics I had something similar a few years ago, it was going well until I overdid it on a corner and spun a porsche gt2 off the track... The instructor was not impressed!
  18. perhaps thats why i called it Halfrauds... maybe.. ish. the clue is in the mistake. http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w40/motobiker/manny.gif~original Happy easter and may all your eggs be fresh. And also your choice of ship name was another clue I think? Thanks for the responses looks like I should stick with a 35W bulb, just have to try a few to see if they're any improvement over the stock bulb - I'm pretty confident there will be some that are!
  19. Hi, I'm looking to improve my '07 ybr's headlight as it seems rather weak and I'll be riding in the dark for a couple of months at least. It seems the stock bulb is 12v 35W, although I've searched I can't find a proper answer - would it be OK to replace it with a 12v 55W bulb such as this? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200759477195 Thanks in advance
  20. Xbox live: SirSpleen Not that I get on it much as it's hooked up to the main TV, must get my old TV out of the basement at some point. *Edit: gamertag now correct!
  21. Thanks very much [strikeout]ClassicKid[/strikeout] mystery secret Santa I had great fun opening my gifts this morning, I like your style! Took about 10 minutes even with a pair of scissors
  22. Merry Christmas (/winter festival of your choice) to you all, a thoroughly welcoming and funny bunch who have made me sure motorbikes are for me
  23. I have received mine, Thank you.. I don't think Hermes took the 'Fragile' tape too seriously
  24. Thanks for the suggestions, guess I'll work my way through them and see how it goes. This will be the final option I think! Not opposed to them but as I only need them for riding at the moment I suppose I'd have to take them out/put them back in every time..
