  1. I saw Halloween tat for sale in our local Range the other day.
  2. We will have to agree to disagree. From an outsider to trade unions its blatant hypocrisy from the union leaders, while criticising wealthy company bosses, they help feather their own nest with six figure salaries from the back pockets of the people they say they represent and care for. If they really cared for them they would give half their salary back to them, are they socialist or capitalist? I had to chuckle at your quote, I had to google it. Was it some statesman; Lenin, MLK, JFK? No, Russel Brand lol.
  3. For them riding the same gravy train that they so criticise company execs of doing. You would think with their socialist ideals of all being equal, they would not want to be paid more than the average worker, "some are more equal than others" I guess. Perhaps the union members should have a vote to slash the union officials pay as it could reduce their membership fees? Not saying the rail workers are wrong calling for action if they are concerned about pay and conditions, just the greed of those that say they serve them.
  4. Had a great day out with #1 at Silverstone, watched both sessions of Motogp & Moto3 and the first session of Moto2. Ticket for today was a very reasonable £20 & #1 was free, found parking at Dadford campsite for £5. All the grandstand that were open were free access and we almost walked around the entire track, watching from Vale, Stowe, Hanger straight Abbey & Village. Mind you the boy wanted an ice cream, the bells and whistles one he chose cost me a fiver. Lots to see away from the track, BMX stunt riders and all the manufacturer's stalls.
  5. Got tickets for Friday practice for me & no1 Grandson.
  6. Dont you just love the hypocrisy of the union leaders moaning about fat cat pay? https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10945175/The-union-fat-cats-make-four-times-members-salaries.html
  7. My tank and seat are ok thanks but might be interested in the exhausts if the price is right. And welcome.
  8. Ah sorry, good point , not even considered that.
  9. Years ago I would have got wound up about it but now just let it go. I think people see the R1 and think that its game on, get it with the M3 aswell, kids in Fiesta STs and the like tailgating me.
  10. The ride home on the R1 tonight was an experience, my legs were burning with the heat coming off the engine and radiator even through my leathers. Sat in a bit of traffic near home the temp gauge got to 107c, glad the fan works ok. Parked the bike up at home and went back to it after 20 mins to put it in the garage and the frame was so hot I couldn't hold my hand on it, tested it with my pryometer and it showed 55c.
  11. Prices finally dropping around here, petrol gone down by 2p.
  12. Was this a genuine crash or a crash for cash incident?
  13. A ran into the back of B. B stopped to avoid a collision, A didn't stop in time, end of. A should have left a bigger gap and anticipate the unexpected.
  14. @oldgrump I've done 26 miles on the reserve light and put in just under 14litres to brim it. The tank capacity is 18 litres so in theory I could do another 40 miles or so.
  15. Back on topic. Last week on my way home on the R1, riding thru Daventry went over a roundabout and a bike with loud pipe went the other way. Carried around the next roundabout following a couple of slow vehicles, I hear a bike coming up behind me. The bike I saw, not sure what it was, maybe 600cc jap something, had turned around and is now behind me. Does no more than guns it up beside me and lines up with me and give me a nod. We carry on around the next couple of roundabouts and he is still dropping back the accelerating up to me. Exit the last roundabout of of town and accelerate past a couple of cars up to about 70mph and hold it there, next minute my shadow comes b@llocking past me probably doing near 3 figures and goes for a pass on two more cars in the distance, in his haste to get by almost has a head on with a truck coming the other way. I carry on into the next village and matey had turned around and headed back to Dav giving me another nod as we pass.
  16. Just to prove it was no fluke., did another tankful of fuel on the R1, 177 miles on 13.75 litres, just over 58mpg. I'm just riding normally, with a bit of effort I reckon I could break 60mpg... Good news is I can get three days commuting on vs only two days on the scooter.
  17. The main door is my only access into the garage, in the unlikely event of power failure or something went wrong with the motor, is there any way to get around that if you are locked out?
  18. Its an up and over door and fairly lightweight, just researching electric roller doors
  19. Indeed, it was incredibly easy with the right tools. Don't think there is much that can resist a disc cutter. The garage is in the back garden so out of sight from the road but still need to review the security. Sadly if a professional thief wants your bike/car they will use every means possible. The garage door is only wooden so wouldn't be much use as a base for a steel box, the whole lot would need replacing.
  20. Me. Was working on my car on the drive so took the keys out and put them in the garage. Finished what I was doing and wanted to go out in the car so shut and locked the garage door. Got in the house and suddenly realised I'd locked both sets of keys with a garage key inside the garage, tw@t. Luckily I hadn't locked the top shed which houses my disc cutter, however all my extension leads are... yep in the garage. Fortunately Mrs B has a selection of short extension leads under the stairs so linked 4 of these across the garden. About 10 seconds with the disc cutter and job done. On the hunt now for a better padlock.
  21. Not so much of an issue with my bikes, I get my riding fix going to work , about 250 miles a week. However it is limiting me using the M3, at 30 mpg average I've hardly been anywhere in it in the last couple of months. What is annoying also is paying road tax on a vehicle I'm not using.
  22. E10 is around 190p, diesel is 199p Even supermarkets aren't much cheaper than local stations.
