Same as the Hagley Rd Birmingham avg speed cameras are only on for certain hours they cannot deal with the level of violations. I agree with built up areas keep the speed down. I live just off a ring road it's like a racetrack, all the speed cameras on it are now obsolete, nothing will be done until there is a fatal collision.

How many of you here bite their Ice Creams rather than lick them?
MikeHorton replied to Troy's topic in General Chat
Sensitive teeth so biting is a no from me -

I've got one but my brother ptlretty much uses it now. Its not bad but I find it doesn't like rerouting if you take a different road. I did email the company they said they are exploring other mapping options. Its compact and easy to use worth it for the money I think -
I thought the same when I had covid but then I did think what if I have an accident or breakdown, sods law it would happen to me so I did the same kept testing till negative annoying I know but the garden looks better for it I spent my time on that rather than the bike. I'll have some amazing begonias in May, sad I know

Little zip out to the Elan valley, roads nice and quiet, a bit misty early on but cleared up nicely. Went to the Red Kite Feeding Station to finish up and slow ride back great day.

I dunno what it is but I'll say it's worth a pint of mild and a bag of scratchings!

Lots of bell ends out today on 2 wheels, speeding through the 30 limits, overtaking on junctions a lot with not the right gear on. I don't normally venture out on 2 wheels on a Sunday for this very reason. I can see why locals in areas that attract us bikers get a bit fed up. Just nice to show a bit of respect for others on the roads and local communities. Off to Wales tomorrow should be a lot quieter

The screen was odd for me I changed to a vario but still seemed to get a lot of buffeting off it. 1st thing I noticed on the AT was clean air and less noise, admittedly its a bloody big screen. I am surprised Yamaha haven't tried to put the triple in an adventure type new bike

You are doing it right shop around and some test rides. Don't let a sales person pressure you. Get the right deal that works for you

This was local to me just over a week ago. Full details not yet known. Straight stretch single cariageway crossroads 50 limit bends either side of the junction though. Car pulled out, no observation by driver or speeding bike maybe. Either way terrible

I had a 2019 with the slightly longer swing arm, stability was good, yup the suspension needs an upgrade for sure. GT panniers on the 2019 didnt fit a full face so I had a kappa top box 46l fitted. Cant knock the build quality and for me it had enough power but wasn't ideal for 2 up touring.

Just sinking a pint at home. This is my favourite beer not cheap but love it, I'm pretty much tee total presently but the odd one won't hurt. A nice way to end my day and start the weekend

The clocks were the big niggle when I had mine. RE were so close to making an iconic bike, just needed a bit more attention to detail. Hopefully the 411 scram will be an improvement the Meteor clocks and the tripper nav may be a little more solid

Throw away society sometimes. My 1st new bike was an xv250 virago in 1995, my dad took me to the bank to help sort my loan but it was my debt my parents taught me to budget and stand on my own 2 feet. I was so proud to have it and it was my pride and joy. On £75 a week as a YT I soon realised the value of money. If I had the money and room for 2nd bike I really would like a new supercub bizarre I know

I'm no help in afraid but I hope you get it back to life. It's criminal that a great little Commuter has been abused in such a short space of time. We need a RSPM royal society for the protection of motorcycles!

I'm all clear about a week now. Its still here but I think the new strategy was living with covid. People seem to have it and suffer less severe symptoms, more people jabbed and the virus mutating in a different way. No covid measures now like masks and stuff so it will spread. I just stopped in, tried to stay active in the house and garden a and wear a mask again now. I know I shouldn't be contagious but just to be sure I'll mask up for another week. Still have a bit of breathing and fatigue issues but nothing too major

Update back home roads quite empty, very few ponies and sheep at the top, a bit hazy but good views back towards South Shropshire and Worcestershire, across to mid and north Wales. Great winding road to the top with a cheeky sheer drop off the side in places!
