  1. Tubby’s Thank god it was shut, reckon you could have caught something nasty from that.... mind you , they’d never find your body there!!
  2. 378 mile around about trip to Newquay. Sore wrists & arse, but all in all not too bad. The longest 1 day trip I’ve ever done.
  3. Doing what to the animals He’s Welsh .... do you really need to ask ??

Got the same response from a couple we’re friends with They had ordered a new letter box for their UPVC door, only to find out it was too deep. I cut it to size, tapped the inserts which only had a 10mm depth thread, created new screws & fitted it.... Her response was “ I know you enjoyed doing that” Not even a beer or hand shandy in thanks !!

Step Daughter phoned her Mum to say that the fuel flap on her Renault Clio wouldn’t open. SD’s useless twat of a bloke had gone to the pub & the car ‘expert’ who lives a few doors away from her had a look and said “ it’s a dealer job love “ A quick trip to have a look & I diagnosed a shagged solenoid ( listened closely & could hear no click when central locking went on & off.) Using my extensive expertise I managed to remove the flap cover & using a screwdriver slid the locking pin back up into the solenoid & opened the flap ( thank goodness for owner forums ) Having replaced the cover she can now open the flap - only problem is that it no longer locks. I should now have achieved super human status in her eyes.....Instead she just shrugged, said thanks & that she knew I’d fix it as I love that kind of thing. So smugness kind of diminished by that response.
  7. It’s Lancaster Services Bob. Always admired that structure.
  8. might have been trying to provoke a reaction, good job you stayed cool & smiled sweetly. I got provoked by a road traffic policeman once, ended up with a slanging match in a lay-by - to be honest we were both acting like dick heads!!
  9. If you get a full warranty as you would with a new bike then it looks good.
  10. Thanks for the offer, I’ve seen some research on this before ( I think via MAG ) it’s interesting stuff & goes a long way to explain the human attitudes to risk ( not withstanding the nutters who’s adrenaline threshold is beyond comprehension)
  11. Testing proves that there’s a live feed from the battery to the igniter & coils. Wasn’t aware that pre-ignition or dieselise could happen on a 4 stroke bike.
  12. Not wearing a helmet is about your own safety not someone else’s, unless you are proposing that someone who chooses to not wear a helmet is more likely to take other risks that might put others in danger ... if so please provide your peer reviewed evidence / data to support your assertion. There is of course this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Risk_compensation (which I have a hunch from your post you already know about) I’m aware of that theory, although Wikipedia isn’t considered a reliable source, a bit more investigation may reveal a more reliable source.
  13. Don’t understand the Audi reference No concern for others safety. Not wearing a helmet is about your own safety not someone else’s, unless you are proposing that someone who chooses to not wear a helmet is more likely to take other risks that might put others in danger ... if so please provide your peer reviewed evidence / data to support your assertion.
  14. Why would they be a danger to anyone else but them selves? Why, because they are obviously not to be trusted in any shape or manner. Bit like the audi and bike doing at least a 100mph and accelerating in a 50, he wasn't catching the audi either. Don’t understand the Audi reference
  15. Started the Trophy Cafe Racer project up, sounded sweet - idle was a bit quick but rear wheel was spinning ( on centre stand ) so it had started in gear without holding in the clutch! Then hit the kill switch & it continued running, turned off the ignition & it continued running - had to pull the plug caps to stop it. As it’s not a two stroke running away with it’s self it seems I’ve got an electrical gremlin... bugger !!
  16. Why would they be a danger to anyone else but them selves? If they take up more of the limited health resources in this country those resources are not available For someone else. Maybe. Best stop riding altogether then ....
  17. I always wear a helmet, but I’m pro choice & anti compulsion. Luckily the helmet law has thus far not led to the compulsive use of protective gear ( again I choose to wear protective gear , mostly) or other stuff such as airbags, leg protectors or BHP limits, not for the want of various nut jobs trying to enforce their unfounded dogma & rebuffed thanks to the likes of MAG.
