  1. Oohh lovely Don’t forget to post plenty of pics.
  2. Sadly it’s not funny
  3. I’ve been listening & reading various Knob ends expounding their views on the ‘deal’ first one to make me choke on my beer was a Tory MP saying that the ‘Oven ready deal’ that Boris spoke of was the transition plan not the final exit deal and that to say anything else is a cheap shot, if I had been in his vicinity I’d have taken that cheap shot & he’d now how to shove a toothbrush up his arse to clean his teeth The way Boris will play the vote on the deal is: If you vote for the deal & it all goes tits up, don’t complain you voted for it ! If you vote against it & the result is a no deal and it all goes tits up, don’t complain it’s your fault ! If you abstain and it all goes tits up it’s your fault, whatever the result. If you vote against the deal but it still gets through & it all goes tits up don’t complain because you obviously wanted a no deal which would have been worse. It’s like having a gun put your head & having a choice of .44 or .45 caliber. It’s a complete & utter stitch up & It makes me sick to the stomach that it is being treated as nothing but a business opportunity by the fat cats!!
  4. Having a gay son living in Brighton has extended my vocabulary hugely. We once went to visit ( without knowing) during ‘Bear’ week ... who knew about all those sub genres....eg Twinks
  5. I may, or may not have known that
  6. You want to try some of the out of the way Warwickshire village pubs. All looks normal in the outside, but beneath the veneer of respectability is a seething mass of Satanists, Swingers, Seditionaries & Sewing circles
  7. Beware - ACF50 stains block paving, couldn’t find anything to get it off. It’s faded over time, but Mrs Mickly was unimpressed!!
  8. Liner bores honed, they are within tolerance but they check the ring gaps & as I thought they are near the top end of the tolerances so new ones will be fitted - probably after Xmas as they will cost £45 per piston !!
  9. Head back from the machine shop. 4 thou skim, valve seats re-cut, valves ground in & reassembled. Crushed dowel removed .. There seems to be some kind of black factory finish on the valves & combustion chamber - it’s not carbon build up, don’t know what it’s purpose is? Also the top of the valve stems where ground down to compensate so same shims can be used ( I will be checking them ) There’s a bit of corrosion on the face, apparently this is not unusual & won’t cause any issues. Now needs masking up & painting ( again !! )
  10. Hopefully @fastbob will be along soon to explain why the ER5 is all the bike you need for touring or even a GSXR1100, not sure about the pillion bit though
  11. Have a good one

    Paint Advice

Thanks, I may try that if the Hycote turns out to be sh*te, although it was recommended to me by a guy I know who restores old stuff.

    Paint Advice

So I’m ready to start painting the engine of the Trophy. I’ve decided to use Hycote extreme heat black and I’m going to use the timing cover as a test piece. I’ll heat up the garage to a temp between 15 & 25 degrees C as per the instructions & heat the cover up in the house oven ( Gas mark 1 ) I’ll apply a couple of light coats then plan to cure it in the oven ... The question is, what does the curing schedule on these instruction actually mean? Is it a gradual curing process starting at 160 degrees for 100 minutes & gradually moving through the range to 230 degrees for 8 minutes ( a total of 3 hours 28 minutes ) or is it a one off hit if 160 for 209 mins OR 230 for 8 mins? Thanks.
  14. Slow roast leg of Lamb for us, fresh Rosemary & garlic stuffed into slits, on a trivet of root veg, onions & red wine. We’ve got Stepdaughter & 2 grand daughters joint us, they will have everything but the meat, which is braised red cabbage, fluffy roast potatoes, steamed sprouts, roast carrots & parsnips, pigs in blankets, spiced stuffing, cauliflower cheese ( blue cheese ), Yorkie puds & thick gravy. Pudding is build your own ice cream sundaes for the girls, cheesecake with clotted cream for the adults followed by a very large Cognac for me while silly games are played.
  15. Got this, it was displayed on my on-line bank account.
  16. In the last week I’ve had the ‘Amazon Prime Subscription is expiring we’re going to take £49:99 out of your account unless you press 1 “ ... I don’t have Amazon Prime ( in my own name ), The “Your BT Internet has been compromised, press 1 to talk to our security team” ... WTF is that supposed to mean? also I’m not with BT. But I can see how people get scammed coz the first time Mrs Mickly got the calls she got very anxious & wanted to know why I was “so dismissive it could be true”
  17. Not pictures of @Six30’s rent boy(s) then ... Thank fcuk for that !!
  18. Happy Birthday @manxie49 ’av a good’un
  19. Fanny farts ... they are hilarious, especially when the lady in question is embarrassed
  20. I had a straight through Zard low level pipe on my old Speedtriple, used to love the way it popped, banged & spat flames on the overrun, tunnels were a gas. One day I drifted up to a set of lights in full overrun Blitzkreig mode & an obviously frightened small child crossing with his Mum burst into tears. I ordered & fitted a baffle ASAP.
  21. Pardon ?
  22. I’ve got a Halfords Advanced socket set, so far the case was replaced when it cracked ( I stepped on it ) & the T50 Torx bit snapped trying to undo Cylinder head bolts - both were replaced without any questions
  23. My Stepdaughter is a dental nurse, I get nothing but excellent, free dental care
  24. Beginning of the end I fear
  25. I got something similar, trouble was that I couldn’t get my helmet on .. I like a tight helmet but that was a squeeze too far.
