  1. The answer is, no they’re not. This is how they should be fitted - Doh Just worked it out for myself ......... well maybe with a very little help from YouTube
  2. Just a simple question. Am I fitting these W clips correctly? If not, how should they go? I’m a bit stumped coz I can’t fit the assembly to shell as the clips get in the way as they are currently fitted.
  3. Usually the front trunions collapsed every other Wednesday Well they were off the Morris Minor. Our neighbour worked at the British Leyland Speke factory so we got a brand new 1.8 Marina. First time it was washed the front wing caved in because it was rotten. Literally held together by the paint. I worked at Longbridge as an apprentice, I can well believe that. Some of the shit I saw was unbelievable.
  4. Mate brought his dads Marina 1.8 TC Coupe (company car) down the pub, lunched the rear diff drifting ( well tramping ) in the pub car park, I choked on my Brew XI laughing, made worse when he panicked and knelt on the floor to take a look in his brand new white jeans. He was trying to get a tow home so he could leave it on the drive & deny all knowledge until we pointed out that the rear wheels were locked solid. Oh the follies of youth.
  5. Both went through a red light, bloody lucky.
  6. In this case Police safety is an oxymoron, Police doing what the f*ck they want with no come back is more like it. Accident wouldn’t have happened if PC Piglet hadn’t stepped into the road, the bikers lack of skill was secondary. Blaming the biker is like blaming the victim of a punch for not ducking quick enough.
  7. Thanks for all the replies & suggestions. After much tweaking, levering, bending & of course copious swearing, I got it to clip in firmly!! I reckon it was the swearing wot done it
  8. Yep, the connector comes out easily, which is the problem.
  9. Thanks Bob, but haven’t found anything suitable
  10. If you look ok closely at the pic below you will see that the top left connector in the block is set back further than the rest, trouble is that although I push it back in place, as soon as I push the connector sides together it moves backwards again. I’ve tried fiddling with the tang ( which in this case is moulded into the block ) but to no avail. So would a drop of super glue fix this or had anyone got a better idea? Thanks Mickly
  11. Saw a YouTube vid of an inventor who built a underground shelter in his back garden accessed by a trap door in his shed. Love the thought of it, what a great way of using space, unless your name is Josef Fritzl
  12. I agree with @dynax and @Bender but if you have a dremmel you could cut a nice tight screw slot and tappity tap and turn might be easier. Cheers Ian This is what I did, worked very well. Replaced them with cap head bolts cut down to size.
  13. They are very dinky, I’m sure if I sat on one, clenched my buttocks & straightened my legs they’d be no need for paddock stands
  14. Wear a condom on your head Works with the knob jokes while providing a medicated & Lubricated barrier to stop unpleasant odours
  15. I did my CBT the very 1st year it was introduced. Having ridden for years before I spent a lot of time standing around waiting for newbies to complete the tasks. Our instructor was constantly apologising to me and said that he should have booked me in with another group that had similar history & that it was a learning experience for him as well. I was patient & didn’t complain. Half way through the road section I realised that the radio had gone a bit quiet so pulled over ( I was lead bike ), after a few more minutes I heard him tell me to make it back to the test centre ( pub car park ), it transpired that someone in the group failed to negotiate a roundabout & binned it ( luckily no real harm done ) & I rode pillion to pick up the stricken bike. Had a long chat with him afterwards about lots of stuff such as the suitability of a potholed pub car park strewn with gravel as a first experience for newbies. He took my comments on board even rewarding me with a free post test advanced riding session ( smug or what!! ) If all establishments were as switched on as him, I’m sure you would have had a different experience. As has already been said, discuss your previous experience, you don’t have to say it was with the same outfit, and most importantly don’t ever, ever give up.
  16. Only advice I’ve got is that if you decide to go to court, take a bottle of lube with you as Big Bubba will be having ‘special time’ with you when you get banged up (Not that I know this from personal experience )
  17. That’s why specific caliper paint is preferable, it’s brake fluid resistant.
  18. Bugger, a bit late, but I’ve got some gold caliper paint ( brush on ) you could have a a dip of, loads left after doing mine & you’re not that far away. Let me know if you’d like a bit of bling
  19. Cost me £400 on my last Speedtriple
  20. Unblocked a rain water drain. It was full of sludge. It’s sumped so that all the sludge gathers in the inside pipe & the water rises up the outside Of the pipe to the drain pipe. However after being up to my armpit in stinking water& dragging out all the sludge the water level was still too high. So I bailed out the water then found that the internal pipe was a git to remove, I then found what can only be described as a substance resembling concrete in the bottom, so I chipped it all out & the internal pipe could be replaced. As I was washing it out & cleaning away the rest of the gunk, I realised that my arse was getting wet .... ( insert joke here ) Found that the hose pipe has a puncture just in the right place to give me an ice cold enema... FFS Time for a beer .. but not Carling this time, a bottle of Singha
  21. Disappointed that the Fire boat doesn’t spray water!! @Mickly all the bits have now arrived so spent far too many hours getting the fire monitors working. Bloody brilliant .. well done that man !!
  22. Oh Shit !! Hopefully you’re ok. Bikes can be fixed.
  23. Bit late I know, but I have read that fitting a ground anchor to a wall is a better security measure as the chain is less susceptible to attack than if it was on the floor. Obviously if your walls are made of breeze block / cheese this doesn’t help, although drilling through the wall and fitting a plate on the other side with anti tamper bolts might.
  24. You obviously sniffed it to authenticate it
