1. Hoggs says that your ‘baton’ isn’t big enough to swing we all know how bitter women get after rejection Nothing to do with that ... XTreme told her
2. well there you go extreme, I could be patrolling these corridors , swinging my baton ready to pounce at the first sign of trouble ….. obviously Hoggs does it better Hoggs says that your ‘baton’ isn’t big enough to swing
3. Was down the garage listening to the ‘chasin the racing ‘ pod cast, so engrossed listening I spent 2 hours looking for the cable that connects the starter solenoid to the starter motor, only to discover that it was already fitted to the starter motor & the other end was hidden under the carbs Mind you it’s a good listen. https://motorbikepod.libsyn.com/
4. I broke one in half riding down the woods, got a mouthful of pine needles, lucky not to loose my teeth
5. Going to Newquay in Cornwall tomorrow. Gonna be storm watching from a pub, drinking Rattler & 1/2 an eye on the Rugby.
6. Yes , I found out an hour ago . I don't know what will become of the building because it's so purpose built . I rarely bought anything of value there but the view from the restaurant was interesting even if it was a view of Coventry . I reckon it’ll be converted into Student housing - just like is happening to everything else in Cov.
7. FFS - this had better be good stuff.
8. Hahahaha ‘cmon @fastbob Earlsdon is part of the Coventry conurbation. Having a few students & hippies drinking Chai at pavement cafes does not make it a village I was talking tongue in cheek as I often do but I love living here . And talking of cafés , could I recommend the excellent Emily's Cafe that is run by my friend's daughter Emily . https://www.coventrycafe.top/ This really is something special . Why would I do that, when I could “go to Macdonald's is the coffee which is reasonably priced and has a great flavour .”? Seriously, I’ll look in next time I’m around that part of the world.
9. Yes I was going to ask if you could move Cov a few miles westward, we have standards to keep up you know. Yes I do understand how it must feel living so close to such a cesspit of a City . That's why I'm so glad that I live in a small village called Earlsdon . With its own newspaper , busy high street , and leafy avenues , Earlsdon is very much a separate community . 10. And the Welsh, and the Northern Irish & the South West. So draw a border north of the M25, South of Hadrians wall & East of Offas dyke.
11. Don’t Airhawk seat pads add padding? They seem quite popular with high mileage riders & those with sensitive botty’s ( why their botty’s are sensitive? Draw your own conclusions.
12. And if you ever watch “Bargain Living Brits In The Sun” you’ll see the Zombies yea they all live in caravans a bit like the trailer parks in america Lazing around, Drinking & eating them selves to death “coz it’s so cheap” I’m surprised the Costa Del Sol hasn’t sank into the Med under the weight.
13. And if you ever watch “Bargain Living Brits In The Sun” you’ll see the Zombies Can it be worse than Coventry City Center ? Oh yes, it’s that bad !!
14. It already looks like a post apocalyptic wasteland from what I've seen . And if you ever watch “Bargain Living Brits In The Sun” you’ll see the Zombies
15. Keep your tissues for your Vorderman fantasies
16. I’ll be asleep If anyone wakes me with fireworks or any such noisy shenanigans they will be rewarded with a good dollop of dog shit through their letter box, it’s the British way !!
17. I’ve been retired for 2 years and so far have resisted any temptation to watch daytime TV. When Missus Mickly puts it on, I bugger off & do something else. When I was working & caught Man flu ( which incidentally IS FATAL, the only reason we don’t die in our droves is be as we are man enough to fight it off ) I still resisted & just got the missus to buy a load of bike mags, plus caught up with reading all the bike books people have bought me over the years. Btw fastbob , has Bob not brought you a healthy meal of live mouse / bird / frog?
18. Or new shear bolts. I had the right sized button head bolts to hand.
19. Coz the shear bolts are a security feature, which is why I used thread lock & resin.
20. I'm really bored Right Richzx6r you asked for it !! Firstly, the rubber sleeves that slide over the fork legs where an absolute sod to fit, I used all sorts of lube ( steady down now ), but they were so tight I ended up knocking them down with a piece of wood. The clamps were splayed too far apart for the bracket fixings to reach, despite trying to hold them together with a pair of mole grips, which got in the way of the bracket. So I used a longer fixing in to pull them them together allowing the correct bolt to be used in the other hole. This only worked if you used the top fixing point first, as if you used the bottom one, the bracket caught & wouldn’t swing up far enough to line up the top one ( of course this was the first way I attempted to do it ) Then I trial fitted the headlamp & could not for the life of me get the light to fit in the bowl, after much cursing & self doubt, I realised that the tang on the headlight rim was too wide to fit the slot In the bowl where the top fixing is. So I had to file, the tang down to fit, I didn’t want to mess with the other side as it might have cracked the chrome, leading to rusting. So there you go.
21. Aaaaagggghhhh So I removed the bracket, refitted the ignition lock, used thread lock, tightened, filled the heads with epoxy resin and let them set. Went to fit the top yolk & the bloody steering lock fouled with the bracket on the headstock. I’ve had to strip it apart again & add some 3.5mm spacers ( found some nylon ones knocking about in the garage ) to replace the thickness of the bracket - Got it all refitted today When you’re really bored I’ll tell you about the fitting problem I’ve had with the headlamp!!
22. Nah. William Hartnell. Much darker and scarier. That’s coz it was in Black & White
