  1. When I didn't have TPMS once I checked it before riding I was happy. Now I have I can forsee myself getting unnecessarily fraught.
  2. Here's a question for the forum:- Yesterday after picked up the bike and within a mile of the dealers my tyre monitoring system went into alarm because both my tyres were over pressure. I pulled into a layby let some air out and rode home without further problems. This morning with ambient temperature of 2 C, I checked my tyres again and both were quite low - 25 psi vs 36 psi for the front and 30 psi vs 41 psi for the rear. I put in air to the recommended pressures but I'll be interested to see what happens when I head north tomorrow. Without the TPMS I'd have had no idea of what was going on. Question is what pressures should we inflate to when the ambient is low vs when it's high? All opinions will be listened to and probably ignored!
  3. In which case it quite possibly is a decent bike but one that's been bought by someone as a summer ride or because its on their bucket list. There's a few HD aficionados on here - ask them for an opinion.
  4. I can honestly say I haven't a clue what you are talking about. I'm obviously not an audiophile!
  5. Won't be holding my breath for the infrastructure as this country seems to be suffering from a total inability to produce major projects on time and on budget - HS2, CrossRail, Hinckley B, any kind of military kit you care to name, etc etc.
  6. So, so sorry that this happened. Its quite crushing sometimes and it's never "just an animal".
  7. I think travel insurers got hammered with all the cancelled flights etc of the last year. Someone has to pay which means the poor old punter as usual.
  8. What spark plugs were you using? Buy cheap buy twice?
  9. Depends on what bike it is and how niche. Was it a new model with teething issues? If it's a good bike in good nick the number of owners shouldn't be an issue BUT if its nominally a good bike WHY has it had so many owners?
  10. Successfully serviced and got GPS and heated kit installed. Also got the centre stand fitted but unfortunately when I got home I discovered my stupid sloping drive made it unstable on the centre stand so back on the side stand.
  11. Absolutely. Especially when they don't arouse "I wish I had one of these" thoughts.
  12. It's now in for service. Got a V-Strom 650 as a courtesy bike. Not a bad wee machine but after 30 miles my bum was numb. Won't be trading the V100.
  13. Personally I don't mind if it's cold as I can always put more kit on. My personal hate is when the aircon packs in when it's 40 C outside and I'm sitting in a metal box with sun shining on it.
  14. Neither my wife or I can carry a tune in a paper bag. She can read music but I can't. However my son is quite musical and both my older grandsons are musical - guitars and keyboards and to my tin ear sound quite good.
  15. We've got a Bang & Olafsen deck which my wife bought with an inheritance back in 1983. It sits in the living room gathering dust while we listen to music via an amazon echo and Spotify. Shameful really.
  16. Thank you. Bloody expensive for what they are though!
  17. Got it up to the required miles for its first service which will give me the full range of performance.
  18. The gentleman driving a Jeep Cherokee who demonstrated his off-roading skills when he found himself in the Bristol Ring Road lane instead of the M32 and drove up the grass embankment back on to the motorway.
  19. Have you tried contacting Circuit Based Training in Mallory Park? They do DAS in 7 days I think. I know a guy who used them and rated them okay.
  20. Mainly because most road riders don't hit the deck at 200 mph. Imo textiles are more comfortable. I'm not trying to convert anyone, if you prefer leather crack on; I don't but am not trying to convert anyone.
  21. £218 for 14 days for a 2 yd skip in Gloucestershire. Not much consolation to you.
  22. Due to family commitments on New Year's day I always try and ride on New Year's Eve. Did this year and roads were quite busy but didn't see another loon on 2 wheels.
  23. I think I've managed to aquire one albeit from the USA so a fair bit of postage. Still a lot cheaper than a replacement pair.
  24. In actual fact unless you are riding on track a lot of more high end textiles give as much protection to road riders as leather.
  25. Twat of the Year
