  1. Lucky you if its NUFC, commiserations if its the Wearside mob.
  2. I do quite a lot of cooking but I am totally banned from using the washing machine. I caused serious contamination once by washing some utterly filthy overalls.
  3. Hope you have a great time in this secret Husoi bolthole. As to turkey wash your mouth out immediately! Different meats in this household. And of course a Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year to you.
  4. We've got 3 ovens and my traditionalist wife uses all of them. I'm allowed to use one if I'm good.
  5. My Multistrada which was a 937 cc V twin allegedly got 50 mpg. My average over 5 years and 26500 (ish) miles was 45.8 mpg. I rode it enthusiastically and took a liberal interpretation of NSL. My Guzzi is supposed to get up to 60 mpg (also a V twin and 1042 cc) but according to owners you do amazingly well to see 50 mpg. I'm expecting 45.8 again. Of course running it in on a miserable 4500 rpm for 1500 km will probably see a lowish consumption.
  6. I didn't but wished I had!
  7. Wife is currently cooking Toad in the Hole in the traditional way. When it comes to cooking we are very old fashioned.
  8. They aren't, they are just protection for the cylinder heads. Behave more like bungs. The crash bars are something I'm still thinking about.
  9. Don't know if she tried it with others but she claimed to be local to me - next town over.
  10. Me too and some inappropriate photos too.
  11. Collected my shiny new toy from Frasers of Gloucester. Rode the 5 miles home but added another 50 for fun. Apart from being restricted to 4500 rpm for running in (and that's virtually impossible) it caused me to have a shit eating grin plastered over my face. Really nice bike to ride and for me possibly better than the Multistrada although it's really too early to tell but first impressions are "this is fun!"
  12. Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello S.
  13. Took out Gap insurance. Premium was £114 which given the price of the bike seemed quite reasonable.
  14. My new bike actually says to use E10 but you can use E5. I'll run it in on E10 then try it on E5. As I'm limited to 4500 rpm for the first 950 miles I won't be thrashing it too much.
  15. Don't buy from China if I can help it although chances are ones I buy here are made in China. Not expensive though.
  16. The 2 museums are well worth a visit, especially in the cold damp weather you will probably have. Amsterdam is one of those places like York which when the wind blows its always feels cold as hell.
  17. What he said. Hope she gets over it soon.
  18. I'm in the NE quite often to visit my Dad but I'm not in the market to buy a bike there! By the sounds of it, fortunately!
  19. Hopefully riding a few miles on the new bike. Weather permitting.
  20. My apologies. Hope you enjoy your trip.
  21. Can't buy motorbikes there though; not unless it's changed a hell of a lot since I moved south.
  22. The weather forecasters predicting "a wall of snow" and blizzards when apparently parts of the east side of the country might get 1 cm. FFS.
  23. Bird in the hand and all that.
  24. I use these or my custom fitted ones and often switch during a long journey.
  25. As I value what hearing I have left I wear earplugs whenever I ride. I've got various options; some are better than others.
