  1. Went over to Guildford with the intention of buying a Schuberth C5 to replace my C3. Quite disheartened to discover the C5 just wouldn't fit my head regardless of the changes made to the internal pads. Size L was horribly tight and XL just wouldn't fit. So salesman suggested I try the Shoei Neotec 2. With thicker pads it is a perfect fit so that's what I bought. Rode home wearing it and it's noticeably quieter than the C3. So happy but poorer.
  2. Rode to Guildford and back on mostly A and B roads; just over 200 miles. Nice and sunny but still quite cool so not wearing my mesh jacket!.
  3. You are correct. Apparently tumble drying for 20 minutes helps as well.
  4. Glad to know I'm not alone. Spent half my Spanish holiday snotting around. Blamed my youngest grandson for the infection.
  5. When you say liquid cleaner were you talking regular liquid clothes detergent? If you were your waterproofing is probably gone. The Motolegends website has a long spiel about it but basically washing goretex with any kind of regular detergent kills it. Sorry.
  6. If that's Longhorsley in Northumberland we almost bought a house there back in the day. Didn't know there was a coffee stop there as usually flee through it on my way to Rothbury.
  7. British Airways- the world's most useless airline. My brother just found out his flight home tomorrow morning was cancelled and the next available flight is tomorrow night. BA are trying to charge him £50 for the privilege of changing his booking when it's their fault. They also informed him via email but conveniently 10minutes after their "help" line closed for the night. I've had issues with them before and refuse to fly them point blank.
  8. Yeah for June it's bloody cold! 14 C in the Forest of Dean today.
  9. In Germany (where my brother lives) their roads are brilliant. As I'm sure you know if it is necessary for a utility to dig up a road it is properly planned and all utilities work together. Not random digs like we get. 2 years ago a short section of road near me was properly replaced. 6 months late the gas board dug it up and patched their repair which is now more of a trench than a pothole. Meanwhile we can spend billions on HS2. Vanity project.
  10. Drove from Stroud to Cirencester this morning along a road that was resurfaced last year. Its now like the surface of the moon. What the hell do they use for tar?
  11. Picking up my brother at Heathrow. He's over for a week so lots of beer.
  12. Sorry to see that Coventry lost out. Maybe next year? Now hoping that Everton go down.
  13. Went to give it a quick clean. 2 1/2 hours later I was done. Hadn't realised how filthy it had got.
  14. I've got a Klim Marrakesh and I'll be wearing it the next time I'm out until well into September. If it rains I put a waterproof over the top. If it's a bit cooler I wear a Klim windstopper shirt under the jacket or a down jacket.
  15. Bloody hell. That would spoil your day! Had to look closely to see the car - it's dwarfed by the rock.
  16. I'd say it does have to be road legal as you risk your insurance becoming void if it isn't. Also as mentioned in a previous thread trying to boost a 125 via the exhaust is just not going to work.
  17. Well if we are blagging about lunch views: last few days
  18. Don't have to go to the Pyrenees for the wild pigs. Forest of Dean is heaving with the bloody things. My personal bete noires are sheep on moorlands. Damned things just wander around the road and they tend to come in numbers.
  19. This time of year there's virtually no traffic. It's great. Saw Fred Flintstone's bike:
  20. Today I drove the N625 through the Picos (wishing I was on the Mutley) and there were quite a few bikes on it - mainly Brits - and no signs whatsoever that roads were closed to bikes. What are closed are some of the trails (similar to green lanes) which used to be open to bikes.
  21. Actually I quite like a cold pizza. On the subject of e scooters - in Spanish cities they are everywhere but mainly being ridden responsibly on bike paths or roads. I suspect they don't have the idiocy we have where you can rent one off a council but not own one privately which means there's no regulation at all.
  22. On a 125 its really not worth it. As the guys above said - save your money.
  23. For sale at and sold for are often very different numbers though.
  24. Swanning round Vigo eating lots of fish and drinking lots of wine.
