Hadn't thought of that either. Marine engines will still be using crankshafts but I guess that's a drop in the ocean compared to the millions needed for cars every year. The law of unintended consequences is going to raise its ugly head more and more often I think.

Not a fan of cobblestones especially in the wet. Saw some bad slides in Croatia on cobbles and even Alston gives me a twitch now and again when the cobbles are wet.

I just put in destination. Select no motorways, unless I'm in a hurry and then i use them. If I deviate the system selects another route to my destination. I quite like doing random routes and am not obsessed with a particular route.

I was bitching to my son in law about my after market centre stand rusting all the time but it turned out his oem BMW one was no better. -
I like Italian bikes so the Guzzi would definitely be one to consider for me.

I've been to Norwich once and trust me it's not hilly unless you count molehills. Try Sheffield, Bristol, Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Bath if you want hilly cities.

Best news today was that Nigeria is cancelled for us and are now going to Angola instead. Still a hell hole but possibly just 2nd level rather than 7th or worse.

Having a quiet sit back after a hectic week and steeling myself for Nigeria to come. A place that is not high on my list of must see destinations.

I can't say I find it particularly cold. You do know about the little trick with the two small flaps in the top lining that in summer are open and winter closed? Do make a small difference.

I've no idea about the E1 but I've a C3 Pro and it's a damned good helmet. Well made and fairly quiet. Plan to replace with a C5 in due course.

I'm allowed to cook and to dig the garden over. I'm also permitted to push the vacuum around. Apparently when I retire we will be on a 2 week on 2 week off rotation for just about everything. This is rather horrifying so a good reason to keep working as long as I can!

Always buy specs with largish lenses as allows better field of view. Side pieces are as flat as I can get so will always fit inside helmet. Currently using ic! Berlin frames which are brilliant.

I use XCP but get it applied by All Year Biker. One application lasts a good 9 months in my experience. Tend to get it done once a leave.

Don't know about mango cider but I once had a mango sour "beer" in Singapore. It was pretty disgusting.

Normal Mediterranean service has resumed - passing Pantelleria. Not looking forward to Le Havre.
