  1. Never speed in a built up area as too much chance of a child or pet running into road. Open road? Altogether another thing!
  2. Actually no. Don't mind Chinese food in Singapore or Hong Kong where it can be superb but I've yet to have one in the UK that's worth having imo.
  3. Due to my weak willed nature I cannot help myself and do speed although only on NSL roads. Guilty your honour. Over the years I've had the points to prove it although never more than 6 at one time. Currently clean mainly due to clever electronics.
  4. I'd rather not buy Chinese at all.
  5. One of the main reasons we sold our flat - fed up with dealing with a management company and paying a fee of almost £2500 per year. Then getting screwed with one off special payments for various "communal" charges. As we had a larger flat we were often paying double for something that we didn't use or need.
  6. I don't buy from China and try very hard not to buy Chinese made as well. Difficult though and occasionally there's no choice.
  7. Better plan - don't break the law in the first place. Apart from speeding.
  8. As Ukrainian air defence is often Russian made from USSR times there's a possibility that it was fired by the Ukrainians. Of course if the Russians hadn't fired around 100 missiles at Ukrainian civilian targets there wouldn't have been any missile defence required.
  9. Russians of course are denying it was them although quite who else it would be they haven't explained. Alien space bats maybe? Their government is totally loathsome so honesty isn't something I'd expect any time soon.
  10. Last few days have been really nice weather wise but couldn't get out on bike. Today I have to get out on bike and its absolutely pissing down and windy too. Joy!
  11. I'll take your word for that although I fear with the amount of column inches in papers concerning Strictly and the jungle thing with Hancock a fair number must be watching those.
  12. Not had a TV since 1979. Can't say I've noticed the lack. Bit of a conversation stopper though - " Did you see.....?" No.
  13. Recently I was doing some on line research about my wife's uncle who was killed in Normandy in 1944 serving with rhe Durham Light Infantry. In the process I got distracted into WW1 and was shocked by the fact that this single regiment had more than 12,500 officers and men killed in that war. Can you imagine the effect that must have had on the mainly Co. Durham communities of that kind of death rate?
  14. Is it worth going to A&E? Or do you reckon you'll get fobbed off?
  15. Heard about it. I think it's owned by a former Wales rugby player but I maybe wrong. Keep meaning to visit as its only an hour from my place and I've been past a few times on some decent roads.
  16. A lot better than yours I dare say.
  17. Not just Ulstermen. After the 1st day of the Somme my grandfather was the most senior man left in his company - he was a Lance Corporal. Sherwood Foresters I think.
  18. Rode it around Gloucester and nearly got knocked off on a roundabout by an apparently blind Mercedes driver. Then washed it having realised its been left filthy for over 2 months. Oops.
  19. Collected it from south London and took the more scenic route back to Gloucestershire. Had some fun at least although the heavy rain around Wootton Bassett wasn't expected. At least my gear was still waterproof.
  20. Same article as in Telegraph. The benefits were supposedly for their numerous children. As the amount being paid was stated as such as part of the trial proceedings it is probably accurate.
  21. Totally pissed off. Just found out that due to my opposite number being a Russian I won't be able to rejoin my ship until around Christmas at the earliest. Also means I'll be off pay from end of November which is really annoying. Not getting screwed the way Ukrainians are but still enough. Bloody Putin! On the plus side I'll get my bike out from storage on Wednesday so in decent weather can cheer myself up and also drag myself back to Northumberland to support my Dad.
  22. Bought my current helmet at Helmet City in Cheltenham. Went to try helmet on before buying (as always), had decent service and bought the helmet. Only realised when I got home that I'd paid more than the on line advertised price. Phoned them up and within a few minutes my credit card had been credited with the difference so no complaints from me!
  23. Minding 2 youngest grandchildren.
  24. Given his own constituency chairman wants him to be fed a kangaroo's dick I'd like him to swim with a large salt water crocodile. Detestable shit head in my humble opinion.
  25. Congratulations!
