  1. Never made it to Daventry. Was sick during Friday night so lack of sleep and nausea meant I weren't fit enough
  2. When I collected the 500 it was lashing it down and I got soaked, but the ride back from London to Northampton was brilliant, especially when I got the chance to open the throttle from Oxford onwards
  3. There should be lots of places to park, depending which way you go in. There will be marshals on hand to guide you
  4. Going to Daventry on Saturday for bikefest
  5. I did 220.6 miles on a full tank, (brimmed) that included the run to Rugby (twice) and a trip to KGH for a oncology check up, plus a run to Daventry for job interview so mostly dual carriageway so 60mph and above. I was actually showing as empty on the way back from Kettering, so shut bike off when waiting for green lights. When I ran the bike after doing the brakes last week it idled for 2 minutes then died, so that's how close I was to empty. Its a 20 litre tank with 2.5 litres as reserve, so 11miles per litre? Too lazy to work out mileage per gallon though
  6. As already said, hope you get it back, in one piece or not too badly damaged. Out of interest, how did it get taken? I assume it was chained/locked somehow.
  7. I didn't find the test difficult, as I said in my post I had ridden for years before having to do any of the CBT or mods, but a DVLA issue robbed me of my full bike licence so had to do all three. the only problem I had was pushing the bike around due to my ileostomy
  8. If that is your attitude, why are you on a forum asking for advice? If you really believe CBT and the mods are that easy then just go and do them, then you can come back and tell us all how fantastic you were. On my CBT I did the whole day. I did not need to as I had been riding for years before it, but a licence cock up meant I lost motorcycle entitlement so effectively I was classed as a learner, but the instructor didn't want to go out on the roads with just the 2 complete novices he had (he put me up front so they could follow me and he could keep an eye on them from the rear) Watching all the videos in the world will not teach you clutch control when moving at walking pace, or how to feather the rear brake - you need to actually be on a bike for that and not all bikes are the same. A young lad I knew passed his tests and bought a Aprilia race replica 125, and unless you hit about 6000rpm before releasing the clutch the damn thing stalled (I know, I tried the bloody thing out at work one day). So, my advice, stop buggering about on here and go get the tests done
  9. All the above
  10. Considering the examiner tells you they require you to do an emergency stop you should be expecting it, so should not be grabbing a handful of brake lever or pulling clutch in until bike almost stalls, besides, if your in the correct gear for the speed you are travelling at (being in top/6th gear at 30mph won't help) engine breaking plays a big part in stopping safely
  11. Welcome to our humble forum, @yupyup3, you could try these. https://www.eaglerider.co.uk/motorbike-hire/farnborough-england-united-kingdom Unfortunately I cannot answer your licence question, but maybe they can help you
  12. One of the reasons the routes aren't shown/published is to check your observation skills. My driving examiner told me to take a left turn, which was right next to a "no entry" sign, so I very nearly turned into the wrong street. It wasn't a one way street as such, but you could only exit at one end, not turn into it, and it was right next to the street the examiner wanted me to take, and I only saw one of the signs so though I'd got the correct street when turning, but saw my mistake just in time to take corrective action. The mod2 part of you making it back to the test centre is not only to check you can follow directions, it's to check you are observant enough to spot the signs you need to navigate by
  13. Surely you mean flash floor cleaner, it does the impossible
  14. Alternatively you could try this forum. https://www.hondatwins.net/threads/cb125-k5-timing-set-up.132427/#post-1112865
  15. Is your engine the correct one for the. bike?, the reason I'm asking is even the original workshop manual for the 125 and 160 show the timing chain in the centre. https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1305313/Honda-Cb125.html?page=23#manual
  16. I looked at mine today after seeing those pics. I'm not looking forward to getting them out, and I have 8 of the blighters
  17. Yeah, thanks @Bianco2564, even I could not be a week early
  18. I use a chain monkey. Brilliant bit of kit and dead easy to use
  19. Maybe they are flying fish
  20. You are now sailing too close to the wind, and your comments are out of order. I suggest you cool it or the mods will be asked to ban you
  21. I actually like butter and marmite on mine, but don't dunk them unless nought on them
  22. Would you recommend dunking rich tea biscuits in a mug of Yorkshire tea?
  23. Now you've gone and done it @goat, you've mentioned biscuits
  24. @Bender you was going to say southies are fast, wasn't you
  25. A good few years ago there was a spate of born again bikers having accidents on an industrial estate in Northampton called Brackmills, where Barkleycard had their headquarters. They were meeting up down there and showing off the bikes, I assume, without realising what they were capable of, and crashing
