  1. PET scan booked for tomorrow, will be radioactive for eight hours afterwards. Wonder if I'll be able to power a light bulb for a couple of hours and save on the electric bill
  2. Took mine to the garage to collect the stripped 500 engine, and discovered I have a bloody fork seal gone on the right fork. I've only done 1700 miles since last August, and I'd just fitted new seals that July, ready for its MOT
  3. I always though it was my hands doing the steering
  4. Happy birthday @dynax, enjoy your coffee
  5. I use a place called Bike Tyrestore
  6. I have started a petition on the riding of e scooters on the pavement, after being nearly knocked flying by one. I want the hire firms to beef up their technology to keep the bloody things on the road where they belong. Your signatures would be a great help, and please share the link around https://chng.it/kwpDYpXM7Z
  7. Ditto
  8. Nothing wrong with being early
  9. I bought a full set, (chain and sprockets) from DID, for the 600 and it came with JT sprockets
  10. The current fuel costs are what's stopping me from going out for a good old blast, even a skeggy run for good ol fish n chips
  11. I put 5ltrs of old fuel (1 year old) in my 600 after the 500 had blown up and had sat unused in the garage for that amount of time, I barely made it out of the street and the bike died. Had to get the RAC out, and we had to strip the fairings off to get at and drain the tank. It was the old fuel that was the problem, even though there was 10 litres of fresh petrol already in the tank so ended up scrapping at least 15 litres. Up to that point the 600 had never missed a beat, except when I accidentally damaged the TPS
  12. In most cases lights are powered by the battery, and the stator runs ignition and recharges the battery via a regulator/rectifier. Unfortunately in your case I am uncertain how you could check the stator, as all the ones I have worked with have just three yellow wires as output. Does your bike have a reg/rec? If so take a voltage reading from either side, (input/output). stators can put out up to 14.7 volt, and a functioning reg/reg should reduce this to about 13.5 to 14.2 to the battery. With engine running and all lights on stator output should read about 14. 2 volts at around 4000rpm
  13. If your willing to throw money at it then it can be done. requires a good bit of machining and different pistons, and the gains are considerable, but as a learner you would be breaking the law if you rode it. The other issue would be the handling. 125 tyres are speed rated and not designed for the extra speed gained. I have experience of this, having done it myself to a Honda 125. So as others have said spend your money on getting your full licence and a bigger bike
  14. I'm sure a deep scan of the corona virus will show "made in China" on it
  15. No mate, but it shouldn't be too long because they're a good health care team I've got
  16. Cancer is back. Phone call at work today, the antigens they scan for in my blood are at an elevated 6, where they usually expect them to be between 2 and 4. Nothing showing on the last CT scan, so now waiting for appointment for a PET scan. (I ain't got no pets)
  17. I joined biker match, not realising it was a dating site I ain't been on it since registration. woman are way too much hassle/bother for me, I'll just stick to two wheels and a engine, I heve some idea what I'm doing with a bike

    New chain

I was just thinking that. 4 links is what, 4 inches roughly so wheel would be all the way forward in swing arm, even then I still doubt the chain could have been joined
  19. Blooming eck gymwitch, that's almost glamping not campjng
  20. Wrong forum, me thinks. Try motorcycle match forum
  21. Is a boulangerie where you can buy your loved ones some undergarments?
  22. If I remember correctly, and someone will correct me if not, the only thing the examiners are interested in is: Is the bike taxed/insured, (ie legal) and you wear boots that cover the ankle and a crash helmet, so if you wish to use a (bumbag) there is nothing stopping you
  23. @Fiddlesticks I've had a good trawl of the old interweb thingy, and there isn't anything on there that gives a automatic scooter/moped rider the option to retake the tests on a geared machine, and from what else I have gleaned that includes the so called DCT bikes
  24. It appears, from Gov uks' own website if you took the test on an automatic you are restricted to an automatic. There is no option to do it again for a manual geared bike, and you would be committed an offence if you rode one. They just recommend taking tests on geared machine in the first place
  25. At least you got recovered in under 2 hours. When my trye had a blow out on the way home from work in Narborough it took over 5 hours before I got a call from a recovery guy asking whereabouts was I. Got home gone midnight
