  1. Hi @billy sugger Sold! PM sent Cheers Ian
  2. Shame on the Olympic commitee for not doing the same ! I wonder if some other nations would be inclined to withdraw from Paralympics in protest ? I quite like the idea of everyone staying away to make a point. Cheers Ian
  3. I know this may sound really stupid but do you happen to know if these occasions when it happens coincide with a full or empty tank or are random? It may be worth checking the simple things like fuel tank breather mechanisms before starting down any path that leads to expense. My reasoning is that during deceleration the engine still has a requirement for fuel but the amount is greatly reduced and during the same period the fuel can be moved to the front of the tank. Just a thought. Cheers Ian
  4. That`s quite true but I have to say over the years I have grown to like dry ridge and verge systems as it is so common to be repointing shrinking mortar even at handover whether it be houses or bigger commercial builds. Stands by to take shelter from traditionalists ! Cheers Ian
  5. May I ask have you involved insurance company or are you going to put your hand deep in your pocket and chalk it down to experience. I ask because despite the costs the structural damage doesn`t seem so bad and I wouldn`t want to give the buggers the opportunity to write off a perfectly good machine. Cheers Ian
  6. Hi @manxie49 now I have looked at your picture I think that is a dry ridge system called Eternit by Marley. Hope that helps. Cheers Ian
  7. Memo to self whatever it costs get someone else to take fat girls rear end apart! what a faff and the heaviest rear wheel I have ever had the misfortune to encounter. Cheers Ian
  8. Don't be tempted to overtighten the screws. If the makers name is visible underneath a tile I have no doubt their tech dept will advise you. Cheers Ian
  9. The girls stand aside as the fat lass gets on the bench for a bit of a polish ready for spring! Cheers Ian
  10. Probably more ! Cheers Ian
  11. Unleash the savage meerkat !!! Cheers Ian
  12. Indicators don`t get me started ! Is it only BMW and Harley that have insane indicator switching? I know my Harley is stoneage but the switchgear and indicators in particular are diabolical. Cheers Ian
  13. All that said it sounds a bit of a no-brainer to me. I hope you have fun doing it up and more importantly riding it ! Cheers Ian
  14. Just a quickie aren`t those XL`s rather than XT`s ? Cheers Ian
  15. I like a challenge and the workshop is heated if I need to stay the night to avoid attack ! Cheers Ian
  16. Hmm I wonder if his spouse will agree ? Cheers Ian
  17. @goat He is going to lynch us next time he is on lol. Cheers Ian
  18. @Mississippi Bullfrog Just for inspiration lol. Bench is empty at the moment could you bring some mead ? Cheers Ian
  19. I see where you are coming from but with more bikes comes the need for a raising bench and an upgrade to the compressor as that looks like the door to the kitchen in the background and he will need provisions prepared and bringing to him during maintenance and mead sampling evenings and the lady in question would probably appreciate a quieter compressor while she preps I would have thought. Cheers Ian
  20. Before crunching any numbers I would want to see it and maybe talk to the owner as to how long they have had it and in general how have they got on with it/ who maintained it? Then I would start looking at value etc as even if it`s dirt cheap if you aren`t confident about the reasons for sale how it`s been looked after walk away. On the upside that does sound cheap and if your parents have known them for ages and trust them it could be a diamond. Carpe Diem and Caveat Emptor spring to mind. Cheers Ian
  21. Well done that man ! With a bit of juggling and if she doesn`t mind shifting some of her stuff I think you might just squeeze a fourth in there. Should be a fun conversation for you. Cheers Ian
  22. Hi You might like to change your post a little on a public forum. It`s a shame to hear your bike was stolen complete with the lock and chain. Cheers Ian
  23. I suppose someone has to ask ! Will you be taking pics on your next visit ? Cheers Ian
  24. Yes you are right ! My GS750 (78) and GT250 (77 I think ) both had them and I have always been a fan. Both my Busas have aftermarket indicators fitted and the Harley which is basically stoneage has one as standard. Cheers Ian
