  1. I'm with the boss @Stu here. Used the phone as satnav before and it restarted itself because of the heat (France, Spain, Portugal) the zumo isn't perfect and freezes a few times when you use both satnav and player at same time. Then gets fed up and reboots. Never had overheating problems with it and screen is great The story of the costumer service at helmet city reminds me a couple weeks ago I went to a travel agent enquiring for a trip on xmas break. The lady just did went on expedia website and check the flights.
  2. Was last weekend but still counts New stator and LED headlight for the shadow
  3. A couple of photos won't be a bad idea. If on the phone you will have the option for browse pics.
  4. That is the difference between a 125 and a 1300 "beast" Honda doesn't own an oil refinery, so they don't have their own brand. Similar to wheel bearing which are manufactured by NSK and then put into a very expensive Honda bag and sold as OEM for 10 times the cost. Personally, I have been using Castrol since I started to be responsible for the maintenance of any vehicle (car or otherwise) and have no intention to change. Castrol is one of the top brands and very reliable. If you're talking about under 1lt of oil then probably you don't need to change the filter as frequently because, 1 the amount of filtered product is reduced, 2 the intervals (for the filter) recommended by Honda will be longer than the 4k miles. Keep in mind that any motorbike manufacturer will advise a "safe" mileage for service for average quality products. Go for proper high-quality products and that safe mileage can easily be doubled without any risk.
  5. IAM run Sat afternoon, BACA Sun
  6. I know my "beasts" are a wee bit bigger than a 125. Spending around £60 in top grade oil for the pan doesn't make any sense to try and save £10 on a new filter so I change the filter with the oil. Because the oil I use is stated to last for 20k miles I do a service at 10k - 15k and replace the filter with the oil. Last filter I had was an Hiflo which end up being affected by rust, yes I ride when I have to regardless of weather. Now I use K&N as they have a superior quality.

    First bike

HI @PaulaP99 It greatly depends on too many factors for anyone sensible being able to advice. Things to consider are (not limited to) type of license; what use you will be making of it; budget; cost of insurance. If you give a few more details about what you like and the ones above, maybe we can give you a hand. Keep in mind that it is always a personal choice regarding the style of bike you like the most.
  8. For me Bridgestone all the way. Tried Michelin pilot 4 and didn't like it For the cruiser Mitas is the way to go.

    Taxes

Property tax on properties over £1m tax on ICE cars over £75k and engine over 2.5L tax on luxury items A new tax on stupidity. It would fill the treasury in no time.
  10. I wonder what will be the result of a rider's leg hitting that at 50mph.
  11. These are the photos I took during the holidays. Only downside is being too short That and missing the roadside litter. In all the over 2000 miles I made for the life of me I couldn't find any litter Apologies if any of the photos is repeated. (Not that I care...)
  12. Can easily see Starmer wining the next elections. Labour Screwing up and be kicked out shortly after then Boris coming back...
  13. There are reports of gas tankers waiting for unloading around Europe because there is no storage capacity. In the meanwhile, the idiotic Macron is stopping the connection from Sines in Portugal to supply Europe because he wants the main entrance to be in the Mediterranean. Not only is further away for the tankers to travel but they will have the Gibraltar straight to cross which is already pretty busy as it is. One new expression that I have heard in recent days (and refers to a earlier post I've made) is called reduflation. In simple terms, reduflation is the act of selling a product for the same price but with less product inside. In UK this happens a lot with innumerous products some more obvious than others. A 800g loaf is now 600g. What would be a 450g package of chicken is now 250g A more subtle "reduflation" is toilet paper that not only the rolls are narrower and smaller, but the density of the paper is lower.

    Garage Flooring..

You have to consider if the garage floor is always dry or susceptible to dampness. Assuming that you have a dry concrete slab at the moment I would go for epoxy resin as indicated by @joevarmr This isn't hard to apply, self-leveling and with a glossy finish you only have to spread it with a paddle and let it cure. Chemically resistant and easy to maintain. You will get all kinds of colours you can think of. Only caution you need is at any external door you have to install a wooden (or plastic) batten to old the resin inside the garage. make sure the floor is spotless clean and there is no dust. youtube will be your friend with 1000s of videos about applying a resin floor to a garage. If you want, you can even use different colours and make some effects. Your imagination is the limit. Being the existing flooring affected by dampness then you should first apply some waterproofing screed (Sike and other brands have these) and then apply the resin. Floor tiles are subject to flotation movement, although this is not a huge issue on a small area, with time, they will start getting gaps between the joints and will become harder to maintain. Yes you can easily replace a damaged tile if the supplier (or you buy spare ones) keep them in stock. I wouldn't advise carpet as garages are meant to keep vehicles and oil is something you won't be able to remove easily from a carpet. Rather some laminate flooring with a fair underlay for insulation if your garage is not used for keeping a vehicle.
  15. After a Africa Twin, 2 VFR800, a Pan European 1300 and a Shadow 700 Only thing I have to say about all of them is, Africa Twin changed the chain kit twice, first VFR had to replace the ICU and chain kit, second VFR change the chain kit twice. Shadow had to replace the stator and little clock. While the bike has been subject to all kind of abuse. Other than maintenance/service they are pretty much bullet proof. Having said that, I'm not a speed maniac and do enjoy when I know I can make 5,000 miles on a bike and nothing will go wrong.
  16. Last instance you can make a payment "on account" for the value you think is the correct one and suspend/cancel DD with intention of reinstate it once the problem is solved if your only option is to can cancel. It is important that, before anything else you contact the supplier (as said before) and explain what you intend to do and what course of action you will be taking. Tell them that unless they sort things out in a timely manner, you are prepared to make a formal complaint to the supplier and to escalate it to OFGEN if they don't have it sorted. You should also say that you are temporary suspending the DD until they have it sorted because you don't have the confidence that they will perform as you expect and you're not willing to pay more than what it's due. Finally, make sure the conversation is recorded, either by you or by them. Remember that if you record the phone conversation, you have the legal duty to inform them.
  17. Then I would have to care about it Unless someone tells me that I have to change it. They are staying. Oddly enough can't find stickers from the places I've been to put them on the trailer
