Morning all .... Off to Plymouth this morning, ( about 0500hrs )Traction and Braking sander stuff for GWR Class 43 locos, then up to Exeter for the night, Class 150 air system upgrade meeting at 0800hrs then to Bristol for a Class 166 survey.... A nice run out on the mighty Himma.

I bought a second hand pair of these, size 12's, from a chap in Leeds ... £25 off the Bay of E's .... They are brill .... 2 winters in use .... top kit ...

OFFERS ,,, CAN DELIVER FOR SENSIBLE FUEL MONEY .. It's a project .... all the plastics are there seat and tank, headlamp and an engine rebuild 6 years ago, just bore and crank seals. Any monies received to be split between my Grandson and Cancer UK.

For similar reasons we've abandoned DCC and gone back to analogue .... makes things much simpler ....

Good tubes are cheap ... rubbish tubes make great rubber bands .. It' a win win sort of thing ... I'm looking for some more road focused tyres for my Himma ... If i'm riding off road ... It's because i've crashed ...

We got to the top of the Col Du Tourmalet, 2115 meters high, and parked up ... A group of Brummie lads turned up on big BMW "Adventure " bikes and where clapping each other on the back and taking selfies by the top sign ... We'd cycled up ! ..... Want an adventure ... cycle ....

Cheque book motorcyclists .... there's a lot of them about ..... I do "oily rag" restorations to MZ 125 and 150's in much worse condition ... amazing what a wire brush in a drill and some rattle cans / Hammerite can achieve ... 8 of my oily rag MZ's are plying their trade around the country with happy owners. Todays scrap ... Tomorrows Treasure .... Girl number 2 on one I made earlier ......

This bike has been in the greenhouse for over 6 years. It was bought as a joint project for myself and my grandson ... but it was not to be ... he's busy with his 3d printer ... We have ALL the plastics, tank and seat but no paperwork. The engine was re built 6 years ago with a rebore and new crank seals. Drop me a line if you fancy taking on this winter project ..... Happy to swap for MZ 250 / 300 stuff ....

I treat the motorbike like prepping a Phantom F4J for flight ..... get all the right kit into one place, remove the locks and chocks, have a good look around the bike for anything untoward, dress for the occasion ( usually multi layer fibre pile and bib tights, with a one piece waterproof shell at this time of year ), position for start (my bike lives outside) ... climb on, start, check lights .... launch The process is about 15 minutes start to finish but i stay warm and things work ,,,, Summer is a different ( somewhat quicker ) process ......

Anything MZ ETZ 250 / 300 wanted .... distance no problem ... Genuine restorer to oily rag standard .... NOT FOR RE-SALE !!

Casuals .... while i'm riding from Rotherham to Salisbury in February ... the only Motorbike on the trunk roads ... I often wonder where the Wonder Ninjas and their plastic fantastic spaceship bikes are hiding ... then April arrives and the sun comes out and they appear in their Dainese finery and me and my 400cc thumper or 300cc two stroke get sneered at. But i'm not bothered ... I just keep riding ... 16000+ miles on the Himma and the MZ's in the last 12 months .... Casuals ..... HA!

IP44 .... I wouldn't breath on it heavily .... My Himma instrument binnacle is IP68 .... the worst of all ... I have to remove the cover monthly and dry it out with a hairdryer ...

Keep away from EBAY i would suggest ... he got his off Faceberk ....

Thats well overpriced ... Son's had 2 of them and they where in excellent condition ... he paid less than £600 for both .... first got nicked ... current one is at 40K milage without any issues ... just good maint ...
