  1. Sorry, sorry, ... it's not grim to us ... it's just the background noise of life .... I make it sound grim but don't mean too ... we've had a great day ....
  2. Girls had us up at 0700 hrs .. We let our daughter stay last night and to be honest it has been a great day. Best Yorkshire Sunday dinner with presents for years. We've let the girls go to their mums tonight .... mmm not sure .. but we'll be picking them up at 1000hrs tomorrow ... Connor and I are nervous but Julie says we have to see what happens ..... Which usually means the girls being dropped of by the police in their PJ's at 3 am !! Our 3 year old is home with his mummies, no heating or hot water, council say they will be out in 2-3 days ... not too good for a mum with stage 4 cancer and a 3 year old .... no doubt Covid will get the blame ..... But it has been a good day ... really
  3. The ultimate parts bin creation .... The Bandit ... a unique bike ... there's never 2 quite the same .... Bandits are nice ... so i'm told ....
  4. I love it .... super simple after the ZZR's , Gixers and killer YammaGammas ..... like a modern MZ ETZ 300 ......
  5. Merry Christmass to you all ... I do like this forum ....
  6. Well ... if you calibrate the compass before each ride it will ...... point anywhere it wants within 100 yds .... It is simple to calibrate by riding in figure of 8 patterns in an empty car park .... OK its pointless ..!! https://www.royalenfield.com/uk/en/our-world/media/news/product-launches/meteor-launch/
  7. the cruiser version seems to have a "Bee" type navi system .... i prefer maps myself ... paper ones ...
  8. Fully, partially, cotton, lycra and lace ...... yum ....
  9. I like girls in the nud, I like them so much i have one of my own .... our Julie ....
  10. Taking the wheels off the Suzuki TS50 today ... guy bought it off me on EBAY .... £292 ... result. He's collecting it in the morning in an Astra ! Front wheel is off but i cant get the rear off .. the axle is moving in the hub but is seized in the swinging arm ??? So nut off axle, hit with hammer , axle moves ... but it's really only spreading the swinging arm ... which is weird .... what is keeping the axle in the swinging arm on the non nut side ?? Anywayup ... I've taken the forks off as well so it should fit, laid down in the Astra with the rest of the bits piled on top ....
  11. Things carry on here as usual in the Peoples Republic of south Yorkshire. We've been in tier 3 and lockdown so long you hardly notice ... pubs are closed ... thats about it ... amazing how having your freedom curtailed becomes the norm so quickly, I expect thats the governments plan. Take away the muzzles and it would be impossible to discern the difference. Bright and sunny weekend so pick up the youngest at 10 (3), get a ride out on the motorbike with number 1 grandson this afternoon, cook for our reduced tribe (girls at uncle johns) this evening, watch Mandolorian. Up with baby in the morning until Julie comes round then out cycling for a few hours ... little one's mummies are coming round for a coffee and to take him home around 3 ... then a quiet night for me Julie and Connor in front of netflix / prime ... Work in the morning ....
  12. Barbecue in the dark at ours tonight ... ... out on the paving behind the house ... definitely no one from outside our household joining us ....
  13. Jump started my bike today. Well I broke down today ..... So phoned my lady to come and rescue me ... Which she did ... The Himma has stood for over a week, it lives outdoors with a cover over it, come rain and shine. Started first thing this morning so tootled off to the garage as it was near empty of fuel, 1/2 a mile away ... filled up, press starter ... click, click, click.... no volts. The Himma's achillies heel is it's lack of kick-starter, combined with a small battery and cold weather and you get this mornings result .. It started first press when Julies Aygo gave it a few volts ... 50 mile round trip to work and back and all is well. Rule 1 ... Don't stop for fuel within 20 miles of the house when the temp is low .... Rule 2 ... Get a better battery.

    Cutting out

I've had similar symptoms on 2 of the bikes that turned out to be a blocked tank vent, the vent through the fuel cap ...
  15. I think my usual lack of empathy is a problem here .... sorry .. Adventure should never be in the past tense ..." I haven't " .... I try to make it my next thing to do ... Small adventures ... often ... On the Winter Solstice, 21st of this month i'm having a mini adventure ,,, cycling from Doncaster to York and back between dawn and dusk .... When we stop having adventures its time for the nappies and the drooling ....
  16. Go on then ... do it ... you know you want to ..... .... but i see your point .... i'd rather be cycling that route ......
  17. Top lad .....Here's one i fixed / modified/ hated earlier .......
  18. True ... buts it's easy for you or anyone to critique people in a negative manner ... go and have an adventure ... take risk ... but just have an adventure ..... My life has been in pursuit of adventure .... and it fits with families .... go and do something ..
  19. But you'll never meet them .... because their across the world having adventures ... and your not ...
  20. My god yes it throbs ,,,, .... but been there, done that, .... from ZZR 1100's to Mighty MZ's .... Gixers to TZ powered YammaGammas ... But love my throbbing RE.
  21. Possibly genuine contenders for TOTY ... actual high milage riders ... rather than "virtual" Bikers ... The amount of time some people are on this site means their not getting astride the mighty throbbing motorcycle very often .....
  22. I am unworthy ... That is beyond amazing .... JHTDC .....
  23. We grow Pineapples in pots in our green house ... in the space not taken up by motorbikes and bicycles .... .... Nice .. But never on a pizza ... ever ... ever .... ever .... ever .....
