  1. Mine tallies up with my name, D.O.B and the source of work where the money came from to buy it.
  2. It should get through but you might get an advisory, As for fitting an alternative size tyre just be sure the tyre is within the spec of the bike and rim, also make sure it will match up with the front tyre.
  3. I run one on the Busa Joe
  4. Is that a crack or just the lacquer pealing off? If it's a crack l would be looking at for fresh helmet. None of us what to test a helmet for it's impact strength, let's leave that to the manufactures to do. But you need to be sure it's going to do it's job should it be called on. Stay safe.
  5. Hi, I robbed this off another site it might be of use, hopefully they won't mind, there also links in there to the DVLA http://www.cossackownersclub.co.uk/dating.html Seems you need to get in touch with the DVLA as soon as you land it, to avoid paying a daily penalty for failing to notify. Best of luck keep us posted.
  6. Touring as a group can be a pain with just a few bikes never mind 30 odd
  7. Can't fault them got a set for work and play, off to Norway in a couple of weeks time you can bet there'll be packed to go
  8. I do love these (especially for storing spare bedding!) but you'd be a bit buggered if you didn't have a hoover at your destination Hi Hoggs, some have a none return valve where you just seal the bag and squeeze out all the air, or in this case there's a little pump you buy to draw out the air, we use them when touring keeps our gear neat flat and dry and save's us tons of space.
  9. Hi plenty of good bags out there, not many can guarantee to be 100% water proof. These are brilliant for extra waterproofing and space saving http://www.amazon.co.uk/Compress-Compre ... B00B7EOBPI you'll be amazed just how much space they save.
  10. Assen and Mugello take some beating. I've been going to Assen for thr last 20 odd yrs as said Friday night party night but this year racing is on Sunday so l assume Fridays party night will now be Saturday Mugello crowds would get locked up if they brought there capers to the U/K shear madness lol

    France trip advice

Hi, Just be sure to have all you Doc's with you. Driving Licence, insurance and vehicle registration doc's. Be sure to have the bike serviced and that the tyres have enough life on them to do the complete trip. A good security lock and breakdown cover might also be handy.
  13. Hi, once you've got the bearings out why not look up your local bearing suppliers instead of ordering factory replacements. My Bimota had a wheel bearing fail, on stripping the wheel down l found that they were fitted cheap Chinese bearings, this to a set of wheels that would of set you back well the wrong side of a Grand!! "me l recall was not happy" In the end l took the lot out and fitted top spec SKF bearings for not big money comparatively speaking, just a thought.
  14. Hi, kick starts are so yesterday, from an engineering point of view yes it's possible to fit one, but as a learning exercise you would be far better to learn how an electric start system works, how to fault find and maintain it. As other have already pointed out there are far more important maintenance checks to learn to carry out othan than this" in my opinion pointless exercise". Enjoy the tinkering it's fun to learn, stay safe enjoy
  15. Sticking sidestand switch possibly? Check the switch is clean and that it moves freely, from there check the clutch and neutral switch. Fault is almost certainly a safety interlock problem
  16. A good few years back l did some work for these guy's in Italy http://www.tecnoidea.it/eng/profilo.htm l hadn't the heart to tell them the true definition of there company name lol
  17. How is it possible for this to work effectively with the engine running? It will be sucked into the engine and fired out before it even had chance to touch the sides, a strip got to be the only way

The more l read into this the more l suspect a weak perished vacuum or fuel pipe or pipes. The pipes will be fine when cold but once the engine warms and up the heat radiates out to the fuel - vacuum pipes this will make them go soft causing a partial collapse and your issues.

annnnnnd this is why I need help Yeah defo more white than brown. I think I still have them if visuals required! Be good to pop a pic up, I would not go any further than getting the fuelling and carbs check over. Could be something as silly as a dirty fuel filter or blocked fuel, vent or vacuum pipe if all the plugs are the same colour. If one of the plugs where a different colour then that would indicate issues with that individual cylinder you have already said the coolant and oil is ok and I'm assuming no rattles. So look for the basic's faults first before being sucked into open surgery.

White or brown Mate? White would suggest the engine is running lean. A blackened plug would indicate the engine running rich as in the pic's

Hi from what I've read, it would seem to me to be a fuelling issue, normally with an electrical fault the engine would be misfiring- popping and banging as the engine would still be pulling fuel but no spark to burn it. With the engine rev's dying then picking up suggest fuel starvation. Note: if there is a fuelling issue your engine will heat up and run hot as the fuelling will be lean. Have you checked the burn colour of the plugs? This should give a clear indication of what's going on in there. http://www.verrill.com/moto/sellingguid ... rchart.htm Hope this helps
  22. Sad sad news R.I.P
  23. Back in the day l had no alternative transport so no choice rode rain, wind, snow or other. What l will say is make sure your well wrapped up and take your time, watch out for the slick road banding and ironwork. I will also add, if your going to ride through the winter fit a set of tyres with plenty of tread, modern super sport tyres rely on heat to generate grip no matter how hard you try your never going to get them warm enough to make them work effectively and for sure there never going to displace the water. Stay safe
  24. Hi and welcome, you might also want to check the condition of your battery . If the battery is shot the regulator senses this and produces an higher than normal charge to compensate hense your blown bulbs
  25. Is that the venue l sent you Stu?
