Sat here with my 13 year old daughter....she's been talking for the best part of 20 minutes and I just keep grunting and nodding now and then.

Does anyone know what she is talking about because I haven't a bloody clue!

I blame it on some of the music they listen to......

Anyway.......if it was a boy, you'd be lucky to squeeze 2 words out of him........my 17 year old only really gets going when he's talking about video games.....otherwise it's single word answers if you're lucky.....

I know and get that we probably all tried talking in our own little way but don't they just seem to talk bollocks, then when they do manage to string a sentence together they have to speak like a reprobate out of Harlem. Now what is that all about, and then can't seem to wear their trousers without showing their arse to the world, now that's just wrong.

You just made yourself look like a PROPER old man by signing that off 'John'. We know you're bloody John, your forum name is banditjohn  . Bet you finish all your text messages with 'John' at the end too. IF you know how to send a text message that is, on all this new fangled technology...

*please don't kill me*

You should always encourage the kids to talk and actively engage in conversation with them, even if its not of any interest to you or the news is on.

You'll soon complain when they spend all evening in their bedroom on GFA5 or FIFA2014

Just had dinner out with the doris. There were a couple of university girls on the table behind me who used the work "like" to excess. Our highest count was 7 times in one sentence.

Mine is 19, i does not get any better.

Better conversation if i text her LOL

as a son who texts his mother from time to time... NEVER use the word "LOL" in a text. I don't care how young you are or how "cool" you think you are, the word "LOL" is not on!

I don't mind the text 'lol' although I never text it, what really and I mean really grinds my gears is when people say 'lol'.
