I wouldn't think much will change just yet.....however probably an excuse for insurance companies to charge a fee for a green card Oh and plus the added cost of multiple international driving permits,

"Get brexit done" is already meaning something different to what the voters thought it would mean.

To drive in some EU states in the event of a no-deal Brexit, drivers will be required to purchase an International Driving Permit from the Post Office as a supplement to a UK licence.

An IDP will cost £5.50, however if you are travelling to multiple countries where different IDP versions are required, you would need to purchase both the 1949 and the 1968 versions of IDPs, costing £11.

Well surely these are UK regulations ? So why would leaving Europe change them ?

I don't think you are fully understanding the whole "Take back control" thing in Brexit.

Just about all are regulations are created in Europe, they are unlikely to change and it's already been said that they want to mirror most things to make life easier dealing with the EU.

But what makes everyone think that if we abolish every rule ever made in Europe that they will be replaced by nice friendly sensible ones ? This could be a bonanza for those that would find any excuse to screw every last penny out of us . Nothing is certain anymore .

Thing is that although ‘some’ regs are created in Europe, not one was passed into UK law without it going through & being bought off by the House of Commons & House of Lords.

They can easily be reversed now the Tories have a majority ( as long as it suits them )

When we joined the European Free trade area the "Common market" in the 70s unlike today there was an alignment period during which our duty rates for trade with the EU reduced to Zero and many regulations where change to meet the Euro free trade market . I do recall that customs boarders still existed across the whole EU even in to the eighties. No matter what happens many of our products will still be compliant with EU regulations it is just not economical to produce something very different for the UK to the EU. There is now a period during which we negotiate our trade deal with the EU whilst this is happening there will be very little change if any.

Before we joined the European common market we still had holidays in Europe drove our cars and bike across the continent, yes it was a little more bureaucratic, whilst leaving the EU will inevitably bring back some bureaucracy for the average person they will see little difference, Green cards will probably be back and IDPs but the only time they will most probably be checked is crossing into the EU or if you do something wrong.

What ever happens we sill still be taking our bikes across to Europe.

no "inevitably" about it.. its a choice to be made. what kind of Brexit does a PM who never really believed in it actually want?

when all he has on his mind is his political legacy and his place in the history books. plus the small matter of the next general election.

I'm fairly bad at predictions.. but I can see him upsetting a lot of people. And it wont be the 'remainers' who no longer count.

We were part of the EU therefore WE also created them.
