on the way to Netherlands now but left late, so thought I'd do a pitstop this time. Tested my speed on the autobahn before finding a hotel.

Did not realise that I was in the Black Forest and thought wow why does this random town have such nice twisties.

And? You must elaborate further 😂

The NAV 6 gave an actual top speed of 159 mph whereas the speedo indicated 165

We may just beat you there. 🤔 Latest update is that the bike may be repaired by Friday evening.

What is up with the bike ?

Went into limp home mode on Monday. Green Flag’s partners have had it moved up to Toulouse where it’s at the BMW dealer’s workshop. The actual fault may have got lost in translation but it’s a problem with the fuel system.

Good morning :classic_biggrin:

I still like fridays!

So do I when ship is properly at sea out in the big blue. First "proper" weekend since I joined. The rest have just been mental.

Filtering illegal in Germany, and I actually see them waiting while I zip past. Cannot be standing still in 25C straight sun lol, I was ready to pay the 100 euro associated fine if needed -

Same with the Gotthard tunnel in Swiss motorbikes waiting for the whole 90 - 240 min wait in line.

Just done Siena to Groningen - bike didn't skip a beat.

If you were filtering in Switzerland, you're lucky they didn't crush the bike 🤣

Initially I did stop in the q to the tunnel, then I read +- 180 min tunnel on the sign. Instantly started filtering..

I’m surprised they didn’t tax/court in force the fook or prison you if you farted in their country, let alone ride through it.🤭

Last time I was in Germany I was behaving and queuing then a couple of German bikes went past filtering so I thought wtf and followed. No issues at all and made easier by the German habit of the queuing drivers pulling over to the edges of the carriageway to allow emergency vehicles through. I'd maybe more cautious in Switzerland or just go through France instead.

Good morning all from somewhere in the middle of France. From this you may note that the bike is once again functioning and we’re making progress towards Rotterdam to our rebooked ferry crossing.

Good news, a pity that your hol's were interrupted, but it sounds like all action that should have been taken was done so, that's a positive.

Glad you're back on the road.

From online reading - it actually seems Swiss tolerate it more when it's warmer, and depends heavily on the area - South OK - North not OK

Also I think the fine would 60 CHF vs potentially 200-320 EUR in Germany if they were to slap you with the book

I’ll try to précis the tale when I get time once I return home. There are learning opportunities… 😂
